Illinois
I remember walking out of the Edward Jones Dome thinking that Illinois was a damn good football team, especially that defense. But I thought it was just my black and old gold-tinted glasses.
After the past few weeks, I'm thinking my first impression about Illinois was correct (and thankfully so - I've predicted them in upsets the last two weeks in the 12th Manchild "For The Crown" contest). Mizzou was fortunate to get them early.
All I know is...
...somebody told Mangino that black is slimming. And by god, I think it was. He only looked morbidly obese, and not completely Oompa Loompa.
That said, GREAT win for KU...and honestly, that only helps us since I'd rather have to fight it out for the title against KU in KC than against KSU in Manhattan.
Assuming we win tonight, anyway... :-)
sorry
this is me. most blogs have anonymous turned off due to spam.

And here we go again
with the technical problems.
by huskergod on Oct 6, 2007 9:16 PM CDT reply actions
you know
it's what we did last year against you guys.
by cornnnation on Oct 6, 2007 9:26 PM CDT reply actions
i don't get
that shot. it was stupid.
whatever. it's football.
we don't have a defense anyway. at this point, we're going to be forced to throw the ball, playing into Mizzou's strategy.
last year's 3-3-5 worked because we had three guys who could generate a pass rush by themlseves. we don't have that anymore.

our defense
is spending too much time on the field.
We have more backs than Lucky. More powerful. We need to use them. Suddenly we're behind and being forced to pass. We need to run the damned ball and stay with it.
by cornnnation on Oct 6, 2007 9:41 PM CDT reply actions
WE
are not being forced to pass because we are behind. Its only 14 points and its not even half time so we can run the ball its just that we cant.

no
in the NFL that's six. In college it isn't.
the play doesn't end just because the guy caught the ball.
College rule - make a football move, continuatin f the play.
by cornnnation on Oct 6, 2007 10:11 PM CDT reply actions
No
you are wrong. Once the ball crosses the goal line it is a TD and the ball is dead, you dont have to make a football move.

and for
crying out loud... the way you guys have been playing, you shuold have scred anyway.
fucking o key.

THAT WAS A TD
That was a TD. Chase and Mizzou got robbed. But Chase is on pace to break his career record for passing yards. But Mizzou has got to score more TDs. These 3 points won't keep Nebraska at bay forever.

Good game...
hope you guys win the NORTH. I hate KSU and CU so now I hope it is you guys or KU. I know, I know how the hell could I hope for KU.

CHASE is a GOD!
Man Chase is showing the WORLD tonight that not only can he throw, but he can run also! Looking like the best QB in the nation tonight. 27-6 TIGERS!

Well....
that might be stretching it a little.

The GOLD Crowd
The crowd looks AWESOME in all that GOLD. They gotta be loving this lead.

Sorry
we couldn't at least give you a game. Until we get rid of the current staff you guys dont have much to worry about from NU.

DEFENSE deserves credit for this lead.
I know our offense has played AWESOME. But when you look at how our defense is playing tonight compared to how they've been playing, the defense deserves the credit. Nebraska has the 15th ranked offense I think, and they only have 6 points halfway through the 3rd quarter. Mizzou's defense has STEPPED UP in this game. Nebraska looks WAY OVERRATED right now. Mizzou's looks almost like a top 10 team.

Holy freaking crap...
...I'm just going to have to accept that that's the best I'm ever going to see Missouri play. Wow. Best effort, best execution, best crowd...right down to the 20-minute wave in the 4th quarter. Just ridiculous.
