I should clarify...

Coppell is the only team called the Cowboys I want upsetting a team led by a quarterback from Southlake this weekend.

Todd McShay did well there...

…he’s still a tool, but yeah…“Have a great front 4” is pretty much the blueprint. Not that any of us have said that a million times by now or anything…

Chase is wearing the No. 25 tonight

Wow. I had figured they were slotting him for it on senior day.

That is awesome. I was wondering if they’d have him do it…though that does make me wonder who’s doing it on Senior Day…

Van Alexander?

Do they go back to the linebackers?

Or does Willy Mo get the nod?

His best friend on the team, I believe, was Jerrill Humphrey (they were roommates, at least), so that doesn’t apply…so yeah, maybe they go back to the LBs. Or not. Maybe Van…maybe Willy Mo…maybe Hood or Chavis…Colin Brown? Jimmy Jackson? I guess I’d probably go with Moore, if I had to bet…

Here's the question.

OU gets a touchdown, UT gets a field goal on the first possessions.

Is OU’s offense at the point where it can be shared with Mizzou’s, in the sense that settling for FGs = death by a thousand cuts?

Jordan Shipley to the house in a kickoff return

Good weekend for the Shipley family. Jordan has a KO return for TD the morning after his father coaches Coppell to the upset of Southlake.

And, yes, I’m going to continue bringing that up.

rpt- re: the number question above

this is from the ncaa rulebook

it says ‘strongly recommended’- does that mean you get a stern look from the ref if you violate the rule?

i guess there are no recommendations for defensive players

SECTION 4. Players and Playing Equipment
Recommended Numbering
ARTICLE 1. It is strongly recommended that offensive players be numbered
according to the following diagram that shows one of many offensive
formations (Rule 1-4-2-b):

End 80-99
Tackle 70-79
Guard 60-69
Snapper 50-59
Quarterback/Backs 1-49

by Wooderson on Oct 11, 2008 12:30 PM CDT reply actions

Gotcha

I wasn’t sure if the lack of number regulation was only extended to backs/receivers. I guess that explains why we don’t see any centers wearing 13.

I was about to say...

…I realize Texas is beating OU, and I therefore should be scared of them, but all I can think of watching this is a) there are holes in both of these defenses, b) we might get into a shootout with them, and c) I like our chances against some NFL teams if things become a shootout.

I would argue

that this game enforce what I always said about OU: If you can get in Bradford’s face enough, he’ll start making mistakes. A lot like Chase. But I also think he’s significantly more fragile than our lilliputian leader.

by Babbalynski on Oct 11, 2008 2:26 PM CDT reply actions

…could get to Daniel if UT can cover everybody for 4-5 seconds. Not totally sure about UT’s secondary, but their rush is good.
