Alright...we are going to try a clean post since I think I finally got the formatting down. We have switched up some of these to the national records and found the records which were actually up to date. Looks like records will be falling left and right over the next couple of weeks...hit the lists to see which ones.
As always, thanks to MUTigers.com for their record keeping, as well as this ridiculously long file from the NCAA
National Passing Yardage:
40. Steven Stenstrom____'91-'94______10531
41. Jared Lorenzen______'00-'03______10354
42. Brian McClure_______'82-'85______10280
43. Troy Kopp__________'89-'92______10258
44. Danny Wimprine_____'01-'04______10215
45. Paul Pinegar________'02-'05______10145
46. Eli Manning_________'00-'03______10119
47. Glenn Foley_________'90-'93______10042
48. Cade McNown_______'95-'98______10008
49. Chase Daniel________05-'08______9845
Turns out there are 48 QB's who have thrown for over 10,000 yards in their career (only Harrell is active, and he is up in the 12K range). The information I have now seems to be a bit more up to date than last week's, so my apologies for that. Chase will obviously start moving on this group this coming week, and with a big game could land up around Danny Wimprine...and what's more fun than saying "Wimprine"?
National Passing Efficiency: (500 completions or more)
12. Chad Pennington_____'97-'99_______156.2
13. Donovan McNabb_____'95-'98_______155.1
14. Tim Rattay___________'97-'99______154.3
15. Duante Culpepper____'96-'98_______153.1
16. David Carr__________''97-'98_______152.9
17. Jason White_________'99-'04______152.7
18. Ben Roethlisberger____'01-'03______151.3
19. Chris Weinke_________'97-'00______151.1
20. Byron Leftwich________'98-'02______150.9
21. Chase Daniel ________ ‘05-08 _____150.5
Vinny Testaverde did not complete 500 passes in his college days...just thought that was interesting. Anyway...Chase added another point and change to his career total, and I will go ahead and assume no one is between him and Leftwich. It will be interesting to track this record and if Chase can keep moving up from week to week.
National TD Passes:
29. Paul Pinegar_________'02-'05______84
30. Ryan Schneider______'00-'03_______82
31. Ryan Dinwiddie_______'00-'03______82
32. Joe Adams__________'77-'80______81
33. Drew Brees__________'97-'00______81
34. Eli Manning__________'00-'03______81
35. Jason White__________'99-'04______81
36. Danny Wimprine_______'01-'04_____81
3?. Chase Daniel ________ ‘05-08 _____ 77
Not sure (again) where he falls on the national list since it only went up to Wimprine (WIMPRINE!!), but he will very quickly start his ascent up this national list as well.
Total Offense:
1. Brad Smith _________ ‘02-05 ____ 13088
2. Chase Daniel _______‘05-08 _____10608
3. Jeff Handy __________ ‘91-94 _____ 6640
4. Phil Bradley _________ ‘77-80 _____ 6459
5. Corby Jones _________ ‘95-98 _____ 6230
Alright, back to Mizzou records. I said that as Chase gets closer to Brad, I will update this with some national people. He's not that close to Brad right now
All-Purpose Yardage:
1. Brad Smith _________ ‘02-05 _____ 4419
2. Devin West _________ ‘95-98 _____ 3824
3. Jeremy Maclin_______'07-'08______3710
4. Brock Olivo _________ ‘94-97 _____ 3475
5. Zack Abron __________ ‘00-03 _____ 3426
6. Darrell Wallace _______ ‘84-87 _____ 3303
7. Joe Stewart _________ ‘74-77 _____ 3256
8. James Wilder ________ ‘78-80 _____ 2769
Maclin will pretty obviously pass West this coming weekend, and a week of playing a high-scoring offense could give him an extra chance or two to add some substantial kick return yards if our defense is not up to the task.
Receptions:
1. Martin Rucker (TE) ______ ‘04-07_____ 203
2. Justin Gage __________ ‘99-02_____ 200
3. Chase Coffman (TE) _____ ‘05-08_____ 190
4. Kenny Holly __________ ‘90-93_____ 151
5. Will Franklin __________ ‘04-07_____ 143
6. Victor Bailey__________'90-'92______128
7. Thomson Omboga______'01-'04_____127
8. Brian Sallee___________'91-'94______119
9. Sean Coffey____________'02-'05______118
10. Jeremy Maclin_________'07-'08_____111
Five more catches a piece for Chase and Jeremy. Homecoming would be a great time for Chase to break T's record. Jeremy passing anyone this week means he probably had a pretty solid week on this list and the next.
Receiving Yardage:
1. Justin Gage __________ ‘99-02_____2704
2. Martin Rucker (TE) ______ ‘04-07_____2175
3. Victor Bailey __________ ‘90-92_____2144
4. Will Franklin __________ ‘04-07_____2125
5. Chase Coffman (TE) _____ ‘05-08_____2122
6. Linzy Collins __________ ‘89-90_____1760
7. Kenny Holly __________ ‘90-93_____1708
8. Sean Coffey __________ ‘02-05_____1596
9. Jeremy Maclin________'07-'08_____1535
10. Mel Gray ____________ ‘68-70_____1491
11.Hank Burnine _________ ‘53-55_____1445
Screw it....I am keeping Hank Burnine's name on here until further notice. Kenny Holly looks to be at least an extra game away for Maclin, but Coffman could move from 5 to 2 this week with a pretty pedestrian effort.
Receiving TD's:
1. Chase Coffman (TE) _____ ‘05-08______ 23
2. Martin Rucker (TE) _______ ‘04-07______ 18
Justin Gage ____________ ‘99-02______ 18
4. Mel Gray _______________68-70______ 14
Jeremy Maclin__________'07-'08_______14
6. Will Franklin ____________ ‘04-07______ 13
Sean Coffey ____________ ‘02-05______ 13
8. Victor Bailey ____________ ‘90-92______ 12
Dwayne Blakley _________ ‘98-01______ 12
Coffman stays put on top and on 23, while Maclin ties Mizzou legend Mel Gray.
Scoring:
1. Brad Smith __________ ‘02-05_____ 284
Jeff Wolfert (PK) _______ ‘06-08_____ 284
3. Zack Abron ___________ ‘00-03_____ 252
4. Corby Jones __________ ‘95-98_____ 228
5. Jeff Jacke (PK) ________ ‘88-92_____ 225
6. Bob Steuber __________ ‘40-42_____ 222
7. Tom Whelihan (PK) _____ ‘84-87_____ 191
8. Brock Olivo __________ ‘94-97_____ 188
9. Devin West __________ ‘95-98_____ 174
Last week I said:
Personally, I would settle for maybe 7 XP's and an FG to tie with the break coming at home...I'll take my chances of beating Nebraska with 52 points.
mmmm...I dont think anything else needs to be said. Not entirely sure why I did not use that to predict my score in the Roundtable...but whatever.
