Mizzou... dancin'?

So says ESPN "Bracketologist" Joe Lunardi, who puts the Tigers in his newest bracket.

"Now ghtd36," you say, "why would I care about that? Not only is Lundari the head of a made-up subject matter with a name created specifically as a marketing tool for ESPN, and not only is he wrong about half the time, but it's freakin' November! This is football season! Why in the world is this notable?"

The notability comes in looking at the actual bracket. Mizzou gets a No. 11 seed in the West Region, and would play in Minneapolis.

Still not enough for you? Take a look:

Kansas in the first round. Notre Dame in the second round.

Oh sweet sexy Jesus, please let this happen.

Can't play a conference opponent until the regional finals

Tho it would be nice to play kU in the tourney. Now I don’t think we are a tourney team anyway, but thats beside the point.
Nice to have some expectations on the national level.

Your 2008 Missouri Tigers! #14 7-2 (3-2). Next up K-State. Chase Coffman is a god.

bingo...

…and it’s insane that he either didn’t know that or didn’t catch it.

But at least he's great on TV!

Oh wait, no he’s not.

A friend of mine makes sure to mention Lunardi whenever possible, just because he knows it’ll get me into a long rant that always ends with “They should just hire ME to do that job…”

I'm still reserving judgment on the Big Dance at this point...

… until I see how the new guys perform in Puerto Rico. There’s no doubt there’s some talent, but I want to see how they react against tough competition when they aren’t on the friendly floor of Mizzou Arena. Earlier in the week, Anderson said something to the effect of “You look out there and we may have five freshmen on the floor at the same time, but you can see we’ve got some talent out there.”

I’m leaning toward a .500 season in conference play, which could go either way depending on how the young guys adapt to Big 12 play, particularly on the road. What do you guys think – is a .500 Big 12 season good enough?

obviously it depends on how it goes down...

…but I’m thinking .500 is about what to expect considering the way we took care of the ball (or didn’t take care of it) against Lincoln and MO Southern. This is an active, enjoyable team…but I’m not sure how good they are yet.

There's no way 8-8 would be good enough this year

As strong as the Big 12 is in football this year, it’s going to kind of suck in hoops, I’m afraid. Texas and Oklahoma will be good, Kansas will get it together by February or so, but after that? K-State will come back to earth, Baylor’s a paper tiger, A&M lost a lot. You’d better go at least 9-7, probably 10-6, if you want a prayer of a tourney bid.

I don't give Lunardi enough credit...

…to know what an algorithm is.

Ah, Stefhon.

I miss that little rapscallion.

A longtime member of the Mizzou basketball program ...

… told me that Stefhon Hannah was the second biggest a-hole in the recent history of Mizzou basketball, behind only Tate Decker. Lee Coward was a close third.

Oh, and we can put the blame squarely on Hannah’s shoulders as to why Keon Lawrence wanted out the first time … not sure why Hannah’s departure didn’t cheer up Keon though.

Not gonna defend Stef's peronality

Bc I have seen and heard his a-holeness for myself, but he could play basketball.

Your 2008 Missouri Tigers! #12 8-2 (4-2). Next up at Iowa State . Jeremy Maclin, Jeremy Maclin, Jeremy Maclin.

Rapscallion?

Your vocabulary is further proof of your immersion in a profession that is dominated by older, white males.

Well..

…I am on record as thinking the Ticket is terrible with the exceptions of Sturm and Hitzges.

But that’s beside the point, because Corby had another hilarious “1920s Reporter” bit the other day. He talked to LeBron James again, and I almost wrecked my car from laughing so hard.
