So...we'll start with a downer note...
Friggin Mizzou women’s basketball LOST last night at HOME to South Dakota State. Turns out…we still dont have anyone who can shoot worth a darn. South Dakota State only hit four shots in the first half, shooting well below 20 percent, and still won the game. Mizzou was less than 50 percent from all areas on the floor, including the free throw line. Tough to call for a coach after the first game…but WOW is that a bad way to come out of the gate.

Actually, a lot of teams are attempting to take care of business and help us out today
(3) Texas beating kU, 7-0 in 2Q.
Auburn beating (10) Georgia, 6-0 in 2Q.
Indiana hanging around (7) Penn State, 10-7 at halftime.
Of course, Illinois is shitting the bed against (11) Ohio State, but if we were to win out, I’m not too worried about the buckeyes.

Todd Reesing...
… is a far worse quarterback this year than he was last. It’s almost like he read about how great he was at making plays, and then decided his best bet was to scramble around and try to get his receivers killed with ill-advised throws.

Similiarly, you became an outstanding QB...
when you get the kind of time McCoy is getting from his line, from what I’ve seen. That second TD Texas scored, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a QB able to stand absolutely still in the pocket without a hint of pressure for that long.

I know it's already been discussed...
…but did someone break into Todd Reesing’s apartment and steal his talent at some point in the past year? Good sweet merciful deity of your choice, he was supposed to contend for the Heisman this year?
I think it shows how important McAnderson was to last year’s Squadron of Beakers.

A couple big drops in the SFLA game...
…a couple drops already in this one.
And this guy is supposed to be an All Big XII receiver? He’s what…the fifth best receiver in the conference? Sixth?
Maclin, Crabtree, Shipley, and Bryant are ahead of him for sure…you could certainly make a strong argument that Cosby and Iglesias are ahead of him, too.

Paul and Denmon each with a 3…but the starters were about the same to me. I still cannot quite figure out what we do on offense when we are not running…
Miguel Paul shooting a lot for a “true” point guard…but hitting 3 of 4 I believe so far.

In other Mizzou Sports today
Both the swim teams lost at Louisville, with the men getting it handed to them and the women being upset. In Cross-Country, the men placed a very solid 5th and the women a not-so-solid 12th (we split the Border War points for the day). And the women’s basketball team still lost last night at home to South Dakota State.

I believe there is a lot to be proud of in the MU Athletics Department, especially that we have been able to hold on to all of our sports while continuing to grow our budget. So many schools have cut sports, but we never had to go that route (At least not in the past 15+ years.)
