Dodging a bullet: Top recruit picks Memphis over KU
Xavier Henry, the near-consensus pick as the No. 1 recruit in the nation, has ended his long recruitment process by choosing Memphis over Kansas.
Per the ESPN.com story:
Xavier Henry, the top-ranked player in the ESPNU 100, announced Tuesday morning he will join his brother at Memphis next season.
"Ultimately playing with my brother and keeping the family together helped make my decision," said Henry of Putnam City High in Oklahoma City. "My parents are okay with it; we're together."...
As a junior, the 6-foot-7 Henry averaged 26.7 points and 7.2 rebounds as Putnam City (25-2) lost in the Oklahoma's Class 6A quarterfinals.
He's following his brother C.J. Henry, who currently plays for Memphis, instead of choosing Kansas, both his parents' alma mater.
Kansas is obviously still going to have a solid recruiting class, but this probably kept it from being a legendary one.

They missed out on Snaer and Henry...
…which is certainly good news for us. Losing out on Snaer was bad for us, but it would have been infinitely worse if he’d tortured us twice a year on top of that…
