Seeds are announced for NCAAs
The NCAA wrestling committee announced the seeds for this weekend's NCAA championship, to be held later this week in St. Louis. Not to take anything away from Beef, but here are the seeds...
Josh Wagner and Tyler McCormick did not receive seeds, to the shock of no one. Wagner made it into NCAAs by the skin of his wildcard teeth, and Tyler is in an incredibly difficult weight class. Michael Chandler received a ten seed at 157, and if he makes it past first round opponent David Nakasone (Lehigh), he will face Cyler Sanderson from Iowa State. Again. Nick Marable received the third seed at 165, behind two guys that he has lost to, Eric Tannenbaum (Michigan) and Mark Perry (Iowa). Ray Jordan received the sixth seed, and in the ridiculously stacked 197 weight class, Max Askren picked up the five seed. Mark Ellis received the 12 seed and will face Jon Wise from Illinois in the first round.

No no..please take away from me...
I doubt I will will be able to churn out any sort of prediction piece simply because I dont have a great amount of knowledge outside the Big XII.
The seeds really do not surprise me, though the draw for Chandler does a little just that he would be on the same side as Sanderson.
I dont have a lot of hope for Wagner and honestly, have such a bad taste from Jordan in the Big XII's and the last two NCAA's, I just dont see him breaking the trend. I could see McCormick making a run...but coming up short. I would really like to see three AA's from this group, and I think Chandler, Marable and Askren give us the best shot to do that.

Agreed.
All three of them are in hellish weight classes, but they can get it done. I'll try to get a preview diary written tonight. I'm heading to St. Louis tomorrow.

Ticketmaster had been selling single session tix
at one point last week in case you are the type of person who needs to have a ticket in hand for the event.
