The midweek loss to Minnesota may have hampered the atmosphere of invincibility just a bit, but the weekend rotation should be set and ready to go against the Raiders. Do Crow, Gibson, and Berger continue their recent run of dominance?

what is the deal with these?
i never understood, but there are more than a few...
like here

but it's probably better than playing here

suck it up, the bulldozer is in play.
90% natural
10% industrial
tell me that picture...
Isn't recent. Although, to compete in the NL East, maybe the Nats will strategically place the bulldozer in short left so Jose Reyes or Jimmy Rollins can slam into it while chasing popups.

I believe that picture is a little old...
I heard Tex talking about the field there now and how it is now ENTIRELY field turf. Hopefully we field off of it better than we did off of the Metrodome field turf
well...
...it'll help that Dan Law Field doesn't have a roof that is the exact color of a baseball...not that that's why we had problems in the baggie dome, but it can't hurt!
yeah, but the Metrodome...
is the Lubbock of baseball fields. It's dreary, barren, and lifeless outside of the few Minnesoootan Nooorwegians who decide to show up for the occasional Twins game. It's by far the worst stadium I've ever been to, and I've been to RFK, McAfee in Oakland, and Wrigely Field.

Having been to RFK but not the Metrodome...
...I say those are pretty lofty words, saying it's worse than RFK...I'll take your word for it, but RFK suuuuuuuuuuuuucks.
At least RFK was an open-air stadium...
So, by that token alone, it was less depressing than the Metrodome. There, if you want to stare up into the sky and look at the clouds or stars or whatever, you're looking into this kind of tan/beige-colored bag that looks like something you'd pick up dog crap with. I got the feeling that the slightest pinprick would have made the roof come crashing down on me.
Although, at least the seats weren't wooden (RFK), there weren't bloodstains on the walls (I swear in Oakland, probably from Raiders games), and you didn't have to worry about giants pieces of concrete or Joe Frat Dude spilling his 17 beers on you after coming back from pissing in a trough (Wrigely).
But still, watching baseball indoors is just depressing.

I have been to two of these three
(never made it to RFK)
McAfee I actually went to BEFORE Mt. St. Davis was erected in the outfield...but staring at the other side of the tracks all game was nothing special.
I have been to plenty of games at the Metrodome...and the best I can say is that it is at least climate controlled and devoid of bugs, though a leaf once fell in there at a game I was at...very confusing.
I give the slight edge to MN because of location of the stadium
getting tight...
...Crow's been dominating into the 8th, but we haven't produced any offense whatsoever since the 1st...1-0 with 1 out for the Raiders in the 8th...
I lost my radio connection...
Thanks, quicktime.
Updates?

I'm glad we won...
But only scoring one run against a guy who had a 12.10 ERA coming into the game? Unless this was a Bud Smith "hey, I suck, but I'm going to be good for one game" performance, I'm going to be kind of discouraged about the offense for now. Hopefully we can pick it up the next two days.

Two games isn't a trend...
...but that doesn't change the fact that we've scored 1 run in our last 17 innings. We'll see what the rest of the weekend brings...offense was obviously the concern coming into the season, so I think we're a little more sensitive about it--two bad games, and we're worried--but...yeah...we'll see...
Game 2 Thread
Mizzou already up 1-0 on back to back hits by Calvert and Senne with a stolen base in between.
The earned run streak is done
Berger gives up a single, balk, walk and another single before getting out of the inning...
Mizzou and Tech tied 1 through 1
Also...softball is playing a big game against aTm, with Jen Bruck on the mound. They are scoreless through 1.5 innings down at College Station.
1-1 through 2
Mizzou went 1-2-3 in the top of the 2nd, but Berger comes back to go K, ground out, K in the bottom of the 2nd.
aTm is up 1-0 on Mizzou in the 3rd in softball.
Berger is dealing, but so is Ramos of Tech
Berger with two straight K's after a 1-out double keeps the score 1-1, with Calvert leading off for the Tigers.
In softball, the wheels have come off a bit for Jen Bruck and the Tigers, as the Aggies are now up 3-0 in the bottom of the 3rd
1-1 still through 4 innings
Mizzou squanders a chance in their half with Calvert reaching on a walk, stealing a base, getting moved over to 3rd by Senne before Priday and Lollis cannot get him home. Berger gives up a harmless, 2-out single before getting an infield pop out to end the inning.
Berger has given up 4 hits, 1 run with 1 walk and 5 K's through 4.
Ramons has given up just 2 hits, 1 run with 1 walk and 4 K's through 4.
Coleman to lead off the 5th for Mizzou.
Softball and Jen Bruck continue to struggle, as they are now down 5-0 getting ready to start the 5th. aTm has 11 hits to zero for Mizzou through the first 4 innings there.
Same score to the 6th
Mizzou squanders a 2-out double and wild pitch by Mach when Fischer cannot plate him, and Berger keeps Tech at bay. Top of the order for the Tigers here in the 6th.
Folgia K's to start the 6th....I think my game tracker gets bogged down from time to time
Meanwhile, softball is also in the 6th inning, still down 5-0.
Berger gets a little wild in the 6th...but
the defense bails him out with an inning ending DP to keep Mizzou on top 2-1. Bottom of the order coming up for the Tigers, will be interesting to see if/when Coach Jamieson makes a move to the pen as we come down the stretch.
Tech pen works out of a jam
Mizzou as ZERO clutch hitting right now, but will carry a 2-1 lead into the 8th inning against Tech
Props to the KTGR announcers...
"Berger is from Oak Park, Illinois and went to Oak Park-River Forest High School"
Finally, some recognition. I remember seeing Berger pitch when I was a sophomore at Oak Park, so it's been pretty cool to see him pitch down here at Mizzou.
god bless gametracker...
Seefield flied out to centerfield, but when it left the 'bat', it looked like it was a 900-foot HR.
SCORE SOME RUNS, GUYS!!! All teams get cold, but...2 runs in 21 innings? Oy...
bases loaded, 1 out in the 6th for MU...
...Lollis at the plate...would REALLY stink to not score here.
Lollis K's...two outs...
Coleman...
...works a full-count walk, and it's 2-1 Mizzou. Steve Gray now at the plate, bases still loaded...
Figures...i get up to throw out about 16 beers...
yes...I just said that...I had to throw out about 16 beers...and they score while i am gone.
And before anyone flips...there were random, accumulated beer which was at least 6 months old...The Boy can vouch that I end up with a lot of beer on hand through various means throughout the year.
damn
Beer at least six months old? And you threw it out?
What the hell.... you bloody beer-waster!
You need to get some friends like me that'll drink anything that says "beer" on it.
HOLY SHIT, man. There's climate change happening! The earth is changing. You're probably causing part of it doing that!
Damn you! Damn you!

Did we really have to throw Tepesch...
two days in a row? Couldn't Scooter Hicks have locked down the ninth?

Mizzou up 5-2 in Game Three...
...exploded for 4 in the first and another in the second, but Tech has scored 2 in the 3rd...has a runner on third with one out...
Zagone STRUG-A-LING once again...
Mizzou managed to break back out to a 7-3 lead, but Zagone just gave up 3 in the 7th, and it's 7-7 in the 8th now...
