In a two-minute span just now...
...SportsCenter showed a clip of Frank Caliendo impersonating John Madden talking about Brett Favre, then went to Jay Marriotti and Skip Bayless debating whether or not Favre will stay retired. Next time my wife says she'd rather watch Rachael Ray's 30-minute Meals instead, I have absolutely no reason not to flip to Food Network. Good god. I realize the 'E' in ESPN stands for Entertainment, but...this is supposed to be entertaining? I now know less about sports than I did five minutes ago, and I was the exact opposite of entertained.

Actually
i love frank caliendo, I love his impressions
but i agree otherwise, this obsession with favre is stupid
on PTI here were the first 4 subjects
Favre retiring
Favre's mark on history
What will the Packers do without Favre
What will the NFL do without Favre
well...
...Favre is one of the best QBs of all-time, and I was certainly prepared for the overkill--it'll be the same way when Brady or Manning retire too. But to me there's a difference between having smart, interesting people talking about him and having Fake John Madden, Skip Bayless, and Jay Freaking Marriotti talking about him.
I figured they might...
...and I just finished the "How ESPN is killing sports" chapter in the book by the guy who created Deadspin...figure he probably had a conniption as well...
