Big XII Men's and Women's Golf Championships

For the men...currently in 10th place (but ahead of kansas) at +4

For the women....they are currently E on the day, but with only two golfers on the course...so we will wait a little while longer to report on their progress.

First...for the women who are on holes 15-17

Right now they are +22, good enough for 4th, but they hold a 3 shot lead over aTm who is the next closest to them from the half that teed off at the same time...so finish decent here and ISU and UT may fall through us since they are just making the turn...could be sitting #2 or so after Day 1 (Okie State will be ahead by 15 shots or so)

For the men, as they near completion of their day....

Well...looks like they have completed their day.  They sit at +24...one stroke behind CU, but still currently in last place.  Okie State is leading at -3....yeah...they have a strong program.

One last update when everyone is done for the day.

So....it appears the men are playing TWO rounds today and then will play one more tomorrow...who knew?

Mizzou did finish the 1st round 1 shot into the cellar...most teams have not yet teed off in the 2nd round.

For the women...not QUITE the strong finish of the 1st round I was hoping for.

The +6's are good enough for T-11th right now, so pretty decent.  Mizzou is at +29...4th place one shot behind UT who has a lot of holes left to play and 2 shots behind aTm who also has just one player left on the course...so it looks like we will finish 3rd on the day, with Okie State sitting 1st right now at +11.

So...the men are almost through with the front nine.....or....um....27 I guess.  They have had a better afternoon than morning, but are still in 12th place, in back of kansas and CU by 4 strokes at +29

The first score is the 1st round, and 2nd score is in progress...Will Harrold looks decent right now, but his being the best on the team is only top 40 in the tourney.  UT and OSU are under par as a team.

For the women, they will finish in 3rd place on the day, two back of #24 ranked aTm and about 15 back of #14 Okie State.  They are 4 up on #33 Texas who still has a couple of people left on the course.  Mizzou also finished well ahead of four other ranked teams.  Julia Potter and Chelsea Schreiwer are tied for 7th right now.

Will try to update one more time from home this evening when the men finish up and see if Mizzou can at least overtake kU who is not having a great 2nd round.

Well....good news and bad news I suppose.  The good news is that the men improved from round 1 to round 2 by 8 strokes.  Bad news is that everyone else got better too and we will finish day 1 in last place, 2 shots back of CU.  Here were their scores:

Nice finish for Harrold and Reynolds...

Interesting to look at the youth of Mizzou, as only Reynolds and Malnati participated last season in the Big XII Tournament.

And, as is often the case, I was incorrect before.  The men will now shoot 18 tomorrow AND 18 on Sunday for a full 72 holes.  I will update as best I can, but when you hear about what I am doing tomorrow, you will understand why I may not get to it.
