Mizzou Links, 5-27-08

Very short Links post this morning, as I've spent the last half-hour playing with the new blog settings.

The Missourian has a nice look at what awaits Mizzou in the Coral Gables Regional. Vahe Gregorian's quick Post-Dispatch write-up isn't bad either. And if you happen to find yourself in South Florida this weekend, trripleplay has the all-important ticket information...

PowerMizzou's got a couple more encouraging recruiting stories regarding WRs. They're encouraging for different reasons. First, Rivals 100 WR Jheranie Boyd of North Carolina is not only interested in Mizzou...he sought them out. (Seriously, check out this kid's film. Outstanding.) Next, we could be in position to land a 6'7 WR from Arkansas...which is just fun.

Finally, the Trib describes Mizzou Softball's disappointing but relatively predictable weekend down in Tuscaloosa. Still an encouraging season from Ehren Earlywine's ladies...

That's all for today...instead of spending time reading about 5-6 more links, go ahead and check out all the new bells and whistles RMN has to offer. This new format is gonna be fun...

Or so I say. I will say this: gameday open threads are going to kick ass. The ‘comments refresh automatically’ feature is simply fantastic. Really, I think the visual adjustment is going to take the longest…I’m not sure I like the narrow column for posts (it screws up my Mizzou 25 tables! lol), but…yeah, lots to like here, so I’ll get used to the stuff I don’t.

The comments updated before, right?...

I hate the narrow columns on Blogspot, which is one thing that I really liked on SB blogs. You guys had a lot more freedom for vids and great pictures than the Blogspot set up allows for us.

I feel like I’m watching ESPNEWS or CNN Headline news…lots going on around the story.

You’re right, it will take some getting used to and I’ll probably bitch for another week :)

You had to hit 'refresh' before...

Now it’ll just populate the new comments without having to press a button. Of course, this really won’t come into play until September during live threads, so…delayed gratification on that one…

I do like that I can now use my own Screen Name on all SB Nation blogs. That’s what I HATED before. I like a handful of SBN blogs, and I refused to sign up again for a few of them because I was tired of signing up.

...of course, I guess it opens the door for bigger spammer problems, but oh well…

And I’m not sure I’m describing the comments thing right, lol. If you’ve just made a comment, and you’re staring at the comments thread, and somebody else makes a comment, the page will refresh itself…you never have to press a button to keep up with the conversation…if that makes any sense.

I think Boyd's pretty much looking at everybody.

He has 30+ offers apparently (and yet, no youtube clips somehow), but it’s still got to be good news that despite all those offers, he sought us out and continues to talk us up. We’ll see. Just get an official visit from him, and I’ll feel really good about the chances…
