Nebraska: Community Projections

Happy Friday and good Community Projection day to all. In case you missed it, here's a look back at what you missed from Nebraska week:

Here are this week's questions, awaiting your response (whether Tiger fan, Husker fan, or anywhere in between) in the comments below:

1. What is the final score of the Mizzou/Nebraska game in Lincoln?

2. What record will Nebraska finish with in 2008 and what bowl (if necessary) will they be invited to?

3. How many yards will the Nebraska surrender on average for the season?

4. How will Mizzou's passing yardage and rushing yardage break down against Nebraska?

5. What will be the announced attendance for this game and what percentage of the crowd will be Mizzou fans?

To save you a trip to Google, here's Nebraska's schedule in 2008:

8/30 - Western Michigan
9/6 - San Jose State
9/13 - New Mexico State
9/27 - Virginia Tech
10/4 - Missouri
10/11 - at Texas Tech
10/18 - at Iowa State
10/25 - Baylor
11/1 - at Oklahoma
11/8 - Kansas
11/15 - at Kansas State
11/28 - Colorado

Picks

1. 31-20, Mizzou.

2. Swaying between 8-4 and 7-5, so I’ll bet low at 7-5. Losses to VT, Mizzou, Tech and OU with a loss to either CU or KU with a berth in either the Alamo or Sun Bowl.

3. 426… 50 less than in 2007.

4. 180 yards rushing, 343 yards passing

5. 85,425 with no more than seven or eight percent wearing gold. The number is good for second all-time at Memorial, besting the Mizzou game from ‘06.

Alright...I will break the ice..or not...RPT gets in there

So that is the first time I have been working on a post only to have another pop in there…well done.

1. What is the final score of the Mizzou/Nebraska game in Lincoln?
I will stick with what I said in the Roundtable….I think Mizzou will still score on what should be a better but “still not there yet” defense from NU and overcome some early turnover(s) to pull out the win 31-20

2. What record will Nebraska finish with in 2008 and what bowl (if necessary) will they be invited to?
I am sticking with the 7-5 (3 wins to start, 3 losses next, two wins, then a loss to OU, upset at home against kU and then win over kSU, close out with a loss to CU) and they end up….in the…..um….7th place in the Big XII Bowl?

3. How many yards will the Nebraska surrender on average for the season?
I had about 410 yards in mind…guess that puts them about 65 yards less than last year.

4. How will Mizzou’s passing yardage and rushing yardage break down against Nebraska?
I think we end up throwing more…I will say 130 rushing and 320 passing for a total of 450.

5. What will be the announced attendance for this game and what percentage of the crowd will be Mizzou fans?
Announced will be whatever the capacity is….78K or something….I think Mizzou fans will have a few more than their 4K allotted…but not too much just because it is a tough ticket to get. I say they have about 6K there, so…um…7.7 percent.

As always, I'm in third place...

1. 31-20!!!!!

2. I say 8-4. Beat VT, lose to OU, Mizzou, Tech, and either KU or CU.

3. 410 sounds about right, so…411!

4. I expect NU’s pass defense to be pretty solid, so I say our gameplan will have a decent amount of rushing involved. I’ll say 175 rushing, 275 passing. Whoops, that means I get The Beef’s 450 total…so…175 rushing, 276 passing…451!!!!

5. Their 1,042,673rd straight sellout. And I say we manage 7K…so…9.0%!

Okay, probably not…6K would be lovely…

Wheat Thins

1. 31-16 ( the weight (in grams) to how many crackers is in a serving of Wheat Thins)

2. 8-4 (lose to OU, CU, Mizzou and Tech)

3. 387 yards

4. 260 yards in the air, 150 on the ground. (amount of sodium (in mg) and # of calories in a serving of wheat thins)

5. 86,000 I am assuming that confidence in Bo will be high and that some swagger will be back in the husker fans. So, record attendance. As for missouri fans, there will be a lot more than usual, but the sea of red will make sure that the presence will be at a minimum. So what ever that is.
