To both better prepare for football season and to better illustrate our nerd-dom, over the next few weeks, RMN will be using EA Sports' NCAA Football 09 to predict the 2008 football season for Mizzou and the rest of the Big 12. The games are run without human involvement under game-predicted conditions and (beginning this week) five-minute quarters. This installment looks around the Big 12 during Week 2, since I didn't exactly have the patience to report on Mizzou against SEMO's replacement "FCS Midwest."
WEEK 2 RESULTS
Missouri 56, "FCS Midwest" 10 - Daniel completes 19 passes for 5 TD
Cincinnati 28, Oklahoma 14 - Three Bradford picks lead to HUGE early season upset
Texas Tech 48, Nevada 31 - Harrell and Kaepernick combine for 700-plus yards
San Jose State 24, Nebraska 21 - Panic begins as Huskers start 0-2
Baylor 45, "FCS Southeast" 10 - Briles gets his first win at Baylor
Kansas 41, Louisiana Tech 24 - Jayhawks score 24 in the third after trailing at the half
Oklahoma State 37, Houston 19 - Robinson goes 21 of 28 for Pokes' first win
Colorado 59, "FCS Northwest" 7 - Buffs pile up 21 first downs
Kansas State 29, FCS West 13 - Patton rushes 22 times for 140 yards
Iowa State 38, Kent State 21 - Cyclones outscore KSU 17-0 in second half
Texas 37, UTEP 13 - 21 third quarter points put Horns in cruise control
Texas A&M 48, New Mexico 24 - QB controversy perhaps, as Jerrod Johnson, not Stephen McGee, leads Ags to win
