Skip Caray, best known as the voice of the Atlanta Braves for 33 years, died Sunday. He was 68.
The reason this is relevant on a Mizzou blog is that Caray, a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism, was a color commentator with his father Harry Caray for Missouri football.
Quoth the ever mysterious ESPN News Services (and it's not AP, because I am looking at a direct AP feed right now):
Caray began his broadcasting career at KMOX-Radio in St. Louis as host of a 15-minute high school sports show and as a sportscaster for high school basketball games. He later joined his father as a color commentator for University of Missouri football.
RIP, Skip.
