Does Mizzou Have IT?
Missouri not only performed as expected, they overshot it. With many predictions ranging from 30-34 points for Mizzou, the Tigers put 52 points on the board. The offense looked great in the first half, J-Mac is back for another great year and our rushing game looks like it's solid as hoped.
However, with the Tigers 52 points, the Illini added 42 points, much more than the predicted range of 20. Again, the first half looked pretty strong until Castine Bridges got burned not once but twice. And in the final minutes, Juice Williams did add 7 points to the board.
Tigers - you have every right to celebrate a great victory. You beat your first threat of the game, defeating a Top 20 team and rival. I do believe they have IT this year. I just hope that adjustments get made earlier in the game and a few fingernails are left after their next big threat.
It will be fun to watch them the next 3 games to see how they learn. Then they'll have 2 weeks to prepare for Nebraska and then let the games begin.
