Link to follow Julia Potter at the USGA Women's Amateur Championship
I will go ahead and throw this over here....as stated in the Daily Links, her match will still not get going until later in the afternoon, and I will do my best to update later this evening. Here's hoping she can keep up the good effort she put forth in the stroke play the last two days. And I am eight words short of being able to publish this....

Potter moves on to the round of 32 by winning 3&2
Interesting match, with a lot of scoring, but one where Potter never trailed. She got up 2 in the first 2, but then lost the next 2 to be brought back to square. She then won 4 of the next 6 and cruised from there, closing out her opponent on the 16th hole. For the round, Potter was 2 over, not a bad score.
She will move on to match up with Megan McChrystal in the 2nd round. The #22 ranked McChrystal won 2&1 over her opponent. In qualifying, Potter was 4 strokes better, and McChrystal shot +6 in her round today (17 holes) Their match will tee off at noon CENTRAL (she is on the bottom of the bracket, so she will be last to tee off all week).
seeds #9 and #10 lost in the first round for the only big time upsets.

Potter takes her first lead of the match
A bogey on the first hole put her back, but Potter came right back to win the 2nd and the 4th to go 1 up in the match.

And she promptly gives it right back
doubles a par 3 to lose the hole, sitting all sqaure now through 5 in this already up and down match.

Potter makes the turn down 1
Really…she has shot pretty well, parring 8 of the first 9 holes. A double bogey 5 on a par 3 hurt her, but her opponent has been able to work some birdies. Plenty of golf left

Potter bogeys 11 to move to 2 down
She needs to get something going here as she has not won a hole from McChrystal since the 4th and is starting to run out of time a bit.

Time slowly ticking away
Potter continues to be solid, but unspectacular, and is now still 2 down with only 4 holes to go. She will need to win one of the next 3 holes without losing one to keep the match going.

And a bogey on the par 5 16th does in Potter
That will end the match at 3 & 2, and Potter has been eliminated from the tourament. A real nice run for the still VERY young player
