Transcript of Jeremy Maclin's Chat on ESPN.COM
Thing went just about 15 minutes....probably the quickest I have seen...fitting I suppose:
Jeremy Maclin: Go Tigers!
Joel (KC): Congrats on the good start! what would you say is the tigers biggest regular season game remaining? Also I hope you guys are undefeated going in to arrowhead the 29th Rock Chalk
Jeremy Maclin: You gotta look at the next one. Each game gets more and more important throughout the season, but the most important right now is Nebraska.
Bryan (Plano): Jeremy, How is your shoulder and ankle feeling?
Jeremy Maclin: I'm good. Football players will always have nicks, but I'll be 100 percent.
Clay (Oakland, CA): Who has the best hands on the receiver unit?
Jeremy Maclin: I've seen Tommy Saunders make some unbelievable catches, but I'd have to say it's Coffman right now.
Sean L Saint Louis, MO: I am pretty certain Mizzou could beat the Rams.....your thoughts?
Jeremy Maclin: Ha! I cannot comment on that!
Wes (Rolla, MO): Who's the best DB you've ever faced?
Jeremy Maclin: I would have to go with Brown, I've never seen anybody move their hips as fast as him.
Jeff (Columbia): So does Coach Pinkel have a sense of humor? He usually seems pretty stoic.
Jeremy Maclin: He's definitely a player's coach and a great guy to be around. We're always cracking jokes with him, and him with us.
Todd (Gainesville): Do you feel lucky to have not played last weekend when so many other top teams went down?
Jeremy Maclin: I don't think it impacts us. Everyone is their own individual team, and we'll play the way we play regardless of what heppens.
Ryan (Columbia, MO): Who is your favorite NFL player and who would you compare yourself to the most?
Jeremy Maclin: My favorite NFL player is Torry Holt. I like the way he plays. I'm from St. Louis, so he's a guy I look up to. I'd compare myself to a Steve Smith, maybe.
Ruvin (Philadelphia): Care to weigh in on the conference debate? Who rules - the SEC or the Big 12?
Jeremy Maclin: Obviously I'm biased. I see the competition week in and week out. They're definitely the two premier conferences out there.
Kevin (Excelsior Springs, MO): How did you make the transition from high school to college football so smoothly? How much of your success has been affected by coaching?
Jeremy Maclin: I did redshirt due to an injury, and it helped me get a sense of the speed of the game. Coaching definitely had to do something with the mental part--just learning things and being coachable.
Corey (Philadelphia, PA): Jeremy: Everybody in the country knows you are a threat to score every time you are on the field. If you had a choice, would you rather: Return a punt for a TD, bring a kickoff back to the endzone, or score on a reverse handoff from Chase? Thanks, go Tigers, and good luck for the rest of the season, always a pleasure watching you play.
Jeremy Maclin: I would have to say a punt return. That has the ability to change the momentum of a game.
Jeremy Maclin: Thanks for coming, everyone!
