YEAAAAAHHHH!

IT’S……..game…day?

No injuries, no injuries, no injuries, Jeremy Maclin not wearing shoulder pads after halftime, Chase Daniel wearing a baseball cap after halftime, lots of second string offensive linemen, lots of De’Vion Moore, lots of young guys.

I'm assuming it may be another bare day in the Live Thread

Everyone who is dropping by, drop a line and let us know if you’ll be around for the Live Thread or if you’ll be heading out to Faurot shortly.

good god...

…there is some TERRIBLE football on display today…

Ohio State 19, Ohio 14, Q4…
Michigan 16, Miami-OH 6, Q4…
Nebraska 14, San Jose State 9, Q3…SJSU has outgained them 241-111…
Virginia Tech 0, Furman 0, Q2…
Purdue 21, Northern Colorado 0, Q4…
Temple 6, UConn 0, Q4…
BC 16, GT 10, Q4…

Seriously, any offense showing up today? Anyone?

SJSU kicks a FG...

…it’s 14-12 Nebraska, beginning Q4. SJSU has now outgained NU 306-183. Oy.

Nebraska's going to win.

But good Lord, that is embarrassing. They have been beaten in essentially every aspect of the game.

SJSU has 294 (!!!) yards against Nebraska. SJSU had 273 against UC-Davis last week.

It's entirely possible

that Mizzou-Nebraska in Lincoln could be 100 combined.

Watching the first drive by OU, I’m going to reiterate my thoughts on OU: we need to pull for Texas or Texas Tech to win the South. This team is terrifying.

by Ridiculous Matt on Sep 6, 2008 2:39 PM CDT   0 recs

They're loaded everywhere.

Barring a major injury or Bob Stoops pulling a Bob Stoops, they can pretty much punch their ticket to KC.

Nebraska exposed.

Huskers still have no defense and a good-not-great offense. Ganz has been underwhelming (though I think he’s for real), and is there a reason Lucky isn’t playing?

I feel a whole lot better about 10/4 after today.

"One man, five scoops." -- shroomer

by ghtd36 on Sep 6, 2008 2:51 PM CDT   0 recs

the big concern I have

is that with Ganz you have the big mobile quarterback with a strong arm. He’s not a freak like Juice, but still, that’s a concern. Luckily, our offense should be able to possibly break records for an opponent in Lincoln. Including USC’s work last year.

by Ridiculous Matt on Sep 6, 2008 2:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Oh yeah, I definitely respect Ganz.

And I respect Lucky. But that’s the problem: that’s all I respect. I don’t respect any of the WRs. I don’t respect the offensive line. And now, I don’t respect the defense.

San Jose State vs. UC-Davis: 4.71 yards per play.
San Jose State vs. Nebraska (in Lincoln, mind you): 5.26 yards per play.

Another thing I've learned today:

Notre Dame is terrible again.

God in Heaven

by Ridiculous Matt on Sep 6, 2008 3:41 PM CDT   0 recs

Notre Dame is absolutely awful.

At this point, Mizzou would be four-touchdown favorites against the Irish. On the road.

"One man, five scoops." -- shroomer

Unbelievable.

Colorado returns an INT for a TD with 1:44 to play to take the 31-24 lead over Eastern Washington, winning by the same score.

That after Washington marched 80 yards on BYU and scored with 2 seconds left…only to get a celebration penalty on the presumably tying touchdown, and get the XP blocked.

Unreal.

Long time listener, first time caller.

Obviously, Maclin is playing, WillyMO was announced as a starter, but I thought he was out. I think Maclin should be starting, if he’s at 100%, so I’m fine with that. Obviously, moving the ball quickly.

definitely. Not too many good performances today

even though teams like tOSU weren’t playing anyone particularly good. Could make a good statement to not only show we’re able to put down a weaker opponent, but if we can avoid the big play, that would be great confidence boost (and look good to pollsters.)

I'm guessing the "Starting lineups" recordings

and Kadlec get to call these last two seasons? They have seen everything this team has been through the last how many years (as long as I have been watching the game). They get to enjoy this as literally part of the team. It must be fantastic for them to get to be a part of this. I really feel good for them.
