Missouri Coach Gary Pinkel has targeted LSU tight ends coach Josh Henson as a possible addition to his coaching staff, the Tribune has learned from multiple sources. Henson, 33, a former Oklahoma State offensive lineman, is also LSU’s recruiting coordinator.
Henson just wrapped up his fourth season at LSU under Tigers Coach Les Miles after spending the four previous seasons (2001-04) working for Miles at Oklahoma State, where Henson also coached tight ends and coordinated the Cowboys’ recruiting efforts.
...
Henson is widely considered one of the nation’s premier recruiters. LSU’s 2009 collection of verbal commitments is currently ranked No. 1 by Rivals.com. (Why would Miles drop the recruiting coordinator duties from Henson's plate if the Tigers have had so much success under his watch? Beats me, but I'm guessing it was an attempt to sweeten the pot to lure Orgeron ... that is, if those media reports were accurate.)
From the desk of Dave Matter. I can think of worse things than bringing on LSU's recruiting coordinator...

true...
…though it does appear that the collective has moved away from "Defense sucks!’ and toward "Recruiting sucks!’ so this will please them in that regard.

Thrust nunchuk upward!
I don't see how this could hurt
But what incentive would he have to leave LSU for Missouri?
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Cash, most likely
plus the cachet of being “recruiting director”.
But you’re all forgetting the best part of this—not only will Mizzou be getting a top-quality coach and recruiter, but Ed Orgeron, DaCoachO himself, will be re-entering our lives. LEMSDAY!
It's a funny name.

word has it that Miles is a work-a-holic which he forces upon his staff. Henson is said to have a young family and that would have something to do with it. Bo Pelini who coaches at Nebraska also coached with Henson on Miles staff and had the same issues. I say give the guy a chance. He was a great player at Oklahoma State on the offensive line —check out his recruiting stats at LSU for that matter. Looks like we are lucky to get him.
