On the University of Missouri basketball Web site on page 44 of the current game notes, team freshman point guard Miguel Paul lists New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul as his first cousin.
However, when a senior student from the university, Michael Kelly, who is from Mandeville, came to the Hornets' practice Tuesday to do a story for an NBC-affiliate station in Columbia, Missouri, Chris said he had no idea who Miguel was.
...
"I'm shocked at the fact that this may not be true because Miguel said all of this stuff and you have all the comparisons at Missouri,'' Kelly said.
Hmm. We just cannot have a normal basketball program. Seriously...we could name Dean Smith head coach tomorrow, and I'm completely convinced that weird crap like this would continue to happen to this program. Good god.

I will give them credit for this
No matter what they keep it entertaining and interesting off the court.
Let the Blaine Gabbert era begin.
They may not be the Showtime Lakers
But for the amount of drama we get, can we at least call them the HBO Tigers?

You know...
Something I found out by living in Fulton is that the term “cousin” can be used broadly in some circles. It may be possible that Chris and Miguel are related, in fact cousins, but that the University wrongly printed this to provide a boost to the freshmen. Or, Chris is so full of himself that he didn’t want to talk about someone else.
OR, this is a huge conspiracy by the Mike Anderson haters, in an attempt to get Bob Knight to come and coach here….
I think Athletic dept. overstated the exact relationship of the Ballin’ Pauls.
I'm the guy that keeps Mr. Death in his pocket.
Miguel said himself that he was Chris' cousin
In fact I have seen his words in print say they are first cousins that have met a few times. For once the Athletic Dept. is overstating or overhyping something.
Let the Blaine Gabbert era begin.
We've gone national!

He's "Pete Gaines" now, get it right
and he’s either really good (when talking about cars), or calling Mizzou fans “redneck methhead slavers”.
Plus, he’s a LOOKER!

New Suspension?
Since “responsibility” allows for the suspension of Lyons, do you think Anderson will suspend Paul on the “honesty” front?
Just when you think it couldn’t get any more entertaining, Mizzou bball never lets the fans down…

There's been some INCREDIBLE comments over on the NOLA site.
This has really brought out the best in online commenting:
- “Sounds like we may need to get Maury on this”
- “Ru Paul unavailable for comment.”
- “Ron Paul disavolves him too. Paul Peterson says "who?”
- “Ron Paul says ‘I ran for president and this guy gets more ink.’ BTW, Ron Paul has a comment, but no one cares.”

There's going to be some fun, fun press conferences soon.
