so what has to happen now
for us to WIN the Big 12 North?
I know its a long shot but anything is possible!
MIZ!
Fight Tigers Fight!
we were mathematically elimated
after last week. The best we can do is lose a tiebreaker, which we can’t even do if Nebraska wins today.
by Transmogrified Tiger on Nov 14, 2009 4:44 PM CST up reply actions
Actually...
I don’t think it IS possible. K-State wins the North if they beat Neb next week, bottom line. If Neb beats State but loses to kU and Colorado, they win the North (we’d both be 4-4, but they have the tie-breaker against us).
"I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all."
by sirensofsilence on Nov 14, 2009 4:44 PM CST up reply actions
K State would be 4-4 in that scenario
It would be a 3-way tie. I don’t care enough to look up the tiebreakers, but there might still be some perfect scenario.
So Ron "I Love Byron Eaton" Franklin
mentioned that even if kU became bowl eligible, they are not guaranteed a bowl because the Big 12 may qualify more teams than we have bowl commitments. So my question is:
What if MU and kU end up with similar records, both are bowl eligible and Lew Perkins blows whomever he blew to get them into the ’07 Orange Bowl. . .

Thats not going to happen Texas will destroy ku next week
Then we get to stomp on their throats in Arrowhead

I suppose
that I put that out there a little more matter-of-factly than I meant to… I don’t think it’s likely to happen…

Might be worthy of keeping an eye on. Then again, what SEC game ISN’T within a touchdown going into the 4th quarter?
other than the one's vs. vandy?

Set up perfectly for a 19-17 final
and a ku cover. Not that I put any real money on it.
yeah, I can't believe I just said that either
"The field mouse is fast but the owl sees at night"- Ricky Bobby's belligerent Granddaddy
I'm not so sure about that
Nebraska, if they take care of business next week, will win the North regardless of this game. That will probably mean Alamo Bowl at 9-4 (assuming CCG loss), which they’d get just as easily at 8-5.
Meanwhile, a ku loss keeps them out of the bowls still with a near surefire loss @UT next week and the big showdown at the end. How satisfying would it be to knock ku’s team out of the bowls?
one of us is wrong here
Last year, were Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech all co-divisional champions? I believe you can have co-divisional champions, even if only one (via the tiebreak system) will represent the North in the Championship.
Here’s what it looks like if Kansas wins:

I, for one, won't ever utter anything about a co-championship
If you’re not playing in the title game, the best you can claim is 2nd place. So gaining some 3-way tie at the top won’t really matter to me as a fan – personally.
all I'm saying is that
co-champions looks better than nothing on a resume when it comes time to go bowling. Please, let Mizzou get in the Holiday Bowl this year…..
Uh, guys...
We were co-divisional champions the last two years…
Remember in 07 MU and kU tied with 7-1 Conference records. We were “Co-Divisional Champs”.
In 08 we were 5-3 in league and tied with NU for the North Division. We were “Co-Divisional Champs.”

Clayborn especially.
I like mcnutt, but the two in-staters I wish we had the most are clayborn and maroney. And, strangely, we were in the lead for both for quite a while…

Since there is no one still around, a joke:
So this pirate walks into a bar, and he’s wearing a big wooden ship’s wheel on a long chain around his neck. He walks up and orders some kind of pirate rummy-drink thing, and the guy behind the bar asks him, “Hey, what’s the deal with the wheel?” The pirate says, “Argh, I don’t know, but it’s driving me nuts.”
The end.
Oh, did I mention that the pirate was Mike Leach?

I really think so.
Zo Williams and a few other players came in and called out the team this week. – Spoon apparently said, “When Zo talks, you listen. It’s nut-cutting time.”
Pinkel said afterward that they saved the integrity of the program.
Whatever the motivations were this week, I think it’s easier to get to the same place this week (and next at Arrowhead).
We said that we’ll learn more about this team in weeks 11, 12 and 13 than we ever would from the Baylor game. I, for one, like what I saw today.

Is anyone else signed up for the Player of the Week
on their phone?
Gabbert got nominated the first week of the season, and I signed up. So I get a text every week with the Player of the Week nominations.
Will Alexander be on that list tomorrow? I haven’t watched Sports Center or anything but is his day getting any play? I hope he gets nominated.
