- Everything looks pretty similar up top. 'Bama holds onto "most impressive" for another week, and Texas' dismantling of Baylor pushes them above Florida for another week.
- Credit to TCU for making a statement and forcing my hand to put them above Cincy. The Frogs win at Clemson gets more impressive each week.
- Waiting for the universe to swallow itself whole with Pitt sitting at No. 8
- Some crazy deltas in the 11-25 range. What a weird jumble of teams.
- Not sure what to do with that bottom four. I really think Arizona gets a raw deal here, but I'm not sure who to replace. WVU hung tough with Cincy. Arizona beat OSU straight up, but the Beavers own a half game lead on the Cats. Should Arizona get reinserted?
- Too tough on USC?

No, not too tough on USC
They’ve been hammered. That’s not a very good defense now, though it will probably be really solid in the next year or two. USC and Oklahoma show that youth matters. It’s not just a whiny Missouri excuse. ;-)
Yeah, dropping USC is fine by me
they are not playing well right now at all. And I would put TCU ahead of Florida, just because they have had the refs bail them out a couple of times this season.

I agree...
On ESPN.com I voted UT 1, TCU 2, UA 3, and UF 4…
There is a God and I'm not it, after that EVERYTHING is subjective. Be careful for what you wish for, you just might GET IT!
The case for TCU over Florida
I was going to post this last week, but decided to wait until after the Utah game. I’ve been on the TCU wagon all year long and while they’ll never get the shot, I think they should be ahead of Florida – maybe even if Florida beats Alabama in the SEC CG.
The case:
- TCU has notable victories over 8-2 BYU, AT 8-2 Utah, AT 7-3 Clemson, and AT 7-4 Air Force. SMU, despite an embarrassing loss to Wazzu is sitting at 6-4 with a decent shot to finish 8-4. That’s five teams on their schedule with a shot at 8+ wins, including two in the non-con.
-TCU in the four notable games above has doubled up their opponents 127-62
-TCU has not had close calls against questionable teams. Their closest games include a 4 point win on the road against Clemson and a 3 point win on the road against Air Force. Both of those teams are quality teams and capable of hanging with a good team at home.
-In their other 8 victories TCU’s average margin of victory is 32 points. Thirty-two.
-Florida has notable victories @LSU and…….um…..Georgia?
-Florida in it’s one notable victory won 13-3
-Florida has had 4 games against mediocre teams decided by 10 points or less (Tennessee and Arkansas at home, Mississippi State and South Carolina on the road)
-Florida’s non-conference schedule is an absolute joke and college football at some point needs to send a message to teams who schedule Troy, Florida International, and Charleston Southern. Their scheduling of Florida State gets a pass because of the in-state rivalry, but playing one BCS school does not give you a right to schedule those 3.
I honestly do not get why Florida continues to get a pass in the USA Today poll.
Reason #1298732987432...
That we need some form of a playoff. It’s clear that there are 3 really good teams this year. So all deserve a shot at the championship, but because of our broken system one team will get left out.
