What kind of personal concerns?
Did Mangino eat one of his players? (Obligatory fat joke…hiyo!)

There was an “incident” between Mangino and a player. I hope this is JUICY!!

10:1 odds it was in response...
to a player posting photos of Mangino’s home on the web.

Perhaps the players are worried
about his recruiting…

If nothing else, there are clearly health concerns
Seriously he is one of the most morbidly obese I’ve ever seen. I realize it’s been said a hundred times, but how the hell are a bunch of 18-23 year-olds supposed to respect someone who is 400 pounds and bitching them out about being in shape?
It’s not a question of if mutiny will happen, it’s when.

I was trying to be generous
like a serving of cheeseburgers at the Mangino house, but yeah the man is insanely fat.

Perkins Flips the Bird to the Mythical Birds!
Gotta love watching KU self destruct. Wasn’t this supposed to be their magical season? Well, I think it’s magical…

From Corn Nation:
It’s nasty news for Mark Mangino and the KU faithful. But it gets worse. Former players’ parents are organizing against him.

From ESPN
According to one source, some players have threatened to transfer from the program because of what they perceive to be having spoken to in an inappropriate manner.

Rock Chalk Talk implied that some of it was racially charged
another rumor was that he might not even coach against Texas.
Boy, this escalated quickly.
by Transmogrified Tiger on Nov 17, 2009 3:10 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Honestly, that'd be a shame.
I’ve always had a lot of respect for Mangino, but if it was something racially motivated you can throw all that respect right out the door.

OH snap if it was anything racial he's most likely already gone and
I would think it would be a long time if ever before he coached again.

Yes
If Perkins let’s Mangino go because some of the players can’t be talked too, or the parents are pissed, then he needs to go too. This isn’t U-12 soccer here.
What a mess. Really, I’m glad, regardless of the bumps this season, that Mizzou fans don’t have to deal with this malarkey this year.

there’s still basketball for them. Oh, and beating us in football, which would bring them a bit of joy out of all that pain.

I am totally fascinated by what is happening. It just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser.

yeah this is crazy.
If he’s fired. and thats a big if. do you think he would get hired anywhere else?

Yep
He’ll get hired somewhere else (and I’m assuming he’ll be fired, if it be this situation of his five game – soon to be seven game – skid). George O’Leary and Mike Price all had “issues” that could be seen by some to be even worse than the rumors we are getting out of Lawrence, and they went on to head coaching gigs. Mangino will coach again, I just don’t think it’ll be at KU after this season.
Too bad – despite the fact that I hate KU with every fiber of my being, you have to admit he did a great job over there. And I don’t want to see anyone go out this way.

KC Radio is reporting that Mark Mangino choked a player in practice last week.

Last week? Last week?
And we’re just NOW hearing about it?
Wow. Guess some people are still good at keeping things secret.
If that be the case, then I guess a firing we will have.
And I just assumed that Dan Hawkins would be the first Big XII coach axed this season.
