Around SBN: SB Nation interviews Jerome Bettis

This weekend is probably even bigger than last week!
Marcus Lucas **** WR 6'4/185/4.5-High Interest
Keeston Terry **** WR 6'3/185/4.58-Verbal KU
Tristan Holt **** CB 6'0/183/4.45-Verbal MU
Dexter McDonald *** 6'2/180-Verbal Illi
Edwin Gaines *** 5'11/165/4.4-Verbal MU
Bud Sasser *** 6'4/200/4.6-High Interest
Braylon Webb *** 6'2/180-Verbal MU

The reason I think this weekend is bigger than last is we have a shot to take two in-state guys away from two teams on our schedule next year. We should be hearing about some commitments later today, I will keep everyone updated as best I can. GO TIGERS!!

We do have to toe a line here...

…this information will spread pretty quickly, but we do want to respect PowerMizzou and the fact that most of its info at least starts out as subscriber only. I don’t have any advice or “this is okay, but this not” rules, but I just wanted to point that out… :-)

Well the link posted is to Inside Mizzou and not PowerMizzou.

Just to be fair

Respect and honor your opponent, unless that opponent is a fictional bird. In which case you hit him until he falls, kick him until dead and burn the remains.

pm doesnt own this data

Its one thing to steal an article. However this info in no way belongs to pm. If they want to charge people for it that is cool. But they don’t own it. So I don’t see any line to toe here. Post away rmn!

Think recruits...

Are going to factor this Big 10 flirtation talk at all? I can see it at least bringing them off focus for a few minutes…

It is possible/likely it would not affect any of them

Considering how long it is likely to take the Big 10 to make a decision on who to ask (1-2 years), and then it is another 3 years to get them into the conference.

It may not take that long

Considering how quickly the U and Va Tech joined the ACC.

The vote for expansion was taken in May 2003.

Miami and Va Tech started play in the ACC August 2004.

Now, it probably will take longer because we’re talking about the Big 12 and the Big Ten. Leviathans like this move a lot slower.

Penn State was invited in 1989

academics joined in 1990

athletics THREE years later in fall of 1993

The Big 10 may not do their schedule that far out, but the Big XII sure as hell does.

Maybe it's growing up in NYC

Maybe it’s not having football at my high school.

I’m not sure.

But as much as I love college football, I don’t really get the excitement over recruiting. I don’t quite get why national signing day is like a holiday for some folks.

I don’t mean this as disrespect; I really want to know why it gets folks pumped up.

Is it the potential for greatness?

Scouts might be jumping the gun

I heard he didn’t call and confirm anything till tonight. Do you think Scouts could be trying to post leaners early to get the jump?

by The Oracle on Dec 18, 2009 11:33 PM CST reply actions

It did kind of seem like it.

Rivals interviewed them after Scout “broke the story,” and he said he was undecided and maintained that until tonight.

Sounds like a risky strategy

you don’t want to get a reputation for false alarms in this biz I wouldn’t think. That’d be worse than having a rep for speed would be good.

Glory glory Man United, AND the other MU, AAAAnd the Leafs. I think I need a drink now.

PM is good, and with JP at IM... things will improve

I don’t know if anyone jumped the gun on it or not, but if so, JP will correct it.

Glad to see that we have a couple options for information and they are excited about Tiger Athletics.

It is an awesome time to be a Tiger – Gentlemen / Visitors – take it in, this is a family. Be a part of something special and share in taking our programs to the next level.
