Go Cowboys

as much as you’d care to do, speaking points-wise :)

but no further

don’t let anybody go pushing you into scoring points you don’t want to. The score you chose will be oh-kay, ok?

Glory glory Man United, AND the other MU, AAAAnd the Leafs. I think I need a drink now.

Wyoming gets a little done on offense to start

Have a frosh QB who was MWC frosh of the year…but the drive stalls. Punt downed inside the 2 for the Cowboys. These teams mouthed each other pretty decent before the game, so there is a little fire out there

I...cannot really concur with that.

Not that brown on brown would be any better, but I can’t really say I’m a fan…

I'm seeing how Wyoming was so hit-or-miss this year...

…Carta-Samuels is a pretty untamed. He’s freewheeling and takes a LOT of chances, but they’ve worked so far…

i'm just not a big fan of graphics on the bottom

with ESPN already having the bottom line going, it’s quite annoying to see something else at the bottom and nothing at the top.

totally agree about the BottomLine...

do we really need all that motion + 2 ESPN logos so close to each other?

by hed64 on Dec 19, 2009 6:44 PM CST up reply actions

I hate this

Looks too much like MNF… I hope ESPN & ESPN on ABC don’t switch but it looks like they will.

Recruiting news!

PM says that Bud Sasser has committed (via text confirmation) and they’re hearing Dan Hoch and Dexter McDonald may have as well.

GREAT NEWS! This might put us in the top-15 in the nation.

In Frank Wren I trust.

by Scott Coleman on Dec 19, 2009 4:56 PM CST reply actions

whoops

yep, Matt Hoch.

I was just so excited! ha.

Best thing about Hoch and McDonald: They’re committed to Iowa and Illinois. Gotta love taking players away from the teams in your area

In Frank Wren I trust.

by Scott Coleman on Dec 19, 2009 5:07 PM CST up reply actions

how many players can we accept?

Just curious, but the news always seems to be new kids arriving, at what point are we officially full?

by Wan Ihite on Dec 19, 2009 6:06 PM CST up reply actions

Well...understand we can certainly take MORE than 25 committments

because right now they are non-binding. However, you can only take 25 signatures come February, and that is as long as you are under the overall scholarship number. The original look at the scholarship numbers suggested this was going to be a smaller class of perhaps 19-21. Clearly, the coaches are to be trusted here (since the number would increase with any sort of transfer or anyone leaving the program), but it will be very interesting to see how the rest of this plays out.

The assumption is Marcus Lucas will have an offer no matter how long he waits (though that wait should end on 1/9) and is expected by most to commit to Mizzou. That would (potentially) make 24. Curtis Carter is supposed to be deciding this coming week after his trip to TCU this weekend. He could be 25. The notion of Keeston Terry switching is interesting, but I just dont see it given his family history with kU.

Thanks

so, to be clear, we can take a max of 25 people in for the year, but unless we have existing students leaving or transferring if we are already over the total allowable and are going to have to drop some of this years verbal commits?

by Wan Ihite on Dec 19, 2009 6:54 PM CST up reply actions

Don't December signees count against last year's class?

If so, then Kenronte Walker applies to last year, as do (potentially) the January enrollees (Franklin, Gabbert, Vincent). I think we’re good as far as the 25 scholarships go…it’s the 85 scholarships for which I’m much more curious about the math…

Sounds like he was having a good time

and why shouldn’t he? Full-court press for him.

In the end, and considering the numbers right now, I dont think we get him. But if he wants the spot, he had better take it before Carter decides later this week
