Great great win

Thanks for that Kimmeh & Ko

From the game thread

loose transcript of Gervino with Kimmie…
I told you, I told you, I told you

Sr. Leadership. Z had the flu, JT said "there’s no way I’m losing this game". There’s no way I’m letting my Srs. down, Merry Christmas to all Missouri fans! They say we can’t do it on the road, this is not a road game, this is St. Louis Missouri.

I cried walking out of that tunnel last year, I vowed I would not lose this year.

MERRY CHRISTMAS MISSOURI!!!

Best comment of the night

Lavin on tv said we “took them to the woodshed”. We imposed our will defensively and it was awesome.

by purplehayes on Dec 23, 2009 10:39 PM CST reply actions

I don't know

I kind of thought the best comment of the night was when Beth said that Missouri and Illinois are separated by the Missouri River…

"I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all."

Tremendous positive from this game:

When Illinois pulled it back within 6, we refocused and closed. Coffee for the entire team!

Seemed like those studio

announcers were a little sad about the Illini performance after the game. It had to do with the decision makingof the Illini instead on the fact we were in their jerseys for the entire game.

by jm_norm on Dec 23, 2009 10:40 PM CST reply actions

well...

when they gave the ball to Tinsdale, there was no stopping…not sure if the good guys just guarded him better, but this was not an outside/perimeter team like us.

anyone else's ESPN completely frozen?

maybe it’s the weather, but the choppy signal is why I went to radio for audio. But, ESPN has been frozen for 10 minutes now.

I saw it!

But in all reality, Tinsdale played a heck of a game. I was really impressed by his effort and ability. But those two blown dunks were good for a lot of laughs.

Oral Roberts beat New Mexico

I hate to say teams that beat us make us look slightly better by beating good teams, but dammit they are trying to make me believe it.

don't feel bad

I was pumped to see them win. I even watched the end of the game on espn360 just to see it for myself. Of course, it would have been even better to get that win now. That said, I’m not positive that the recently parted namesake U would have won without the confidence they gathered against the Tigers. It surely wasn’t the crowd, because that place was empty!

by parliamentlite on Dec 23, 2009 10:55 PM CST up reply actions

Since I'm also a Lobo fan

I am dissappointed q.q

Curse you Oral Roberts!

Ending the steak

makes joining the Tiger class of 2014 so much sweeter. And people ask why I’d want to go Mizzou over an Illinois school… isn’t it obvious?

My oldest child is about to turn nine

This was the first Braggin’ Rights win of her lifetime. The key is that I wasn’t in the building. I’ve been to at least six or seven of them without ever seeing a win.

Glad to get the win, but I’m seriously concerned about the complete inability of our bigs to finish around the rim.

by Michael Atchison on Dec 23, 2009 10:54 PM CST reply actions

We've never lost to Illinois in my youngest child's lifetime.

And, we’re 3-1 in my oldest’s lifetime (football & basketball combined)

To sum up Michael Dixon today:

Seriously, I cannot be more excited about the prospect of him being around. He is EXACTLY the kind of guard that fits perfectly in this system. And he’s only a freshman. Woo.

And as an alumnus living in Central Illinois with all my friends and family here being Illini fans, it feels damn good to finally get one on those guys. How bout that football/basketball sweep?
