Missouri Wrestling: Day 2 Update from The Midlands
We will go ahead and use this for the Day 2 updates, as the Tigers had a number of wrestlers going early this afternoon in the hopes of winning their next match and assuring themselves of a top 8 finish. They also have four wrestlers still alive for a title. Let's see how they fare
133: Nathan McCormick had a solid day yesterday, which included a win over the #2 seed. However, he fell 5-3 to the #8 seed from Rutgers today and is done. Still, a solid outing for McCormick on the two days with some solid wins to hopefully build some confidence.
141: #10 seed Todd Schavrien was in the same boat as McCormick, and ended up with the same result, losing a match to the #8 seed via pin in the first round to finish his tournament.
157: #4 seed Patrick Wright had a great day yesterday before falling in the quarters to the #5 seed. Tough luck today because he started with the #3 seed Steve Brown, and lost a tough 2-1 decision.
165: The only action on the day so far (as Nick Marable is in the semis still to come) is with Zach Toal, who faced the #10 seed. Toal won his match in exciting fashion with a 9-8 decision, and now will face Mike Galante of Lehigh who he has faced already this tournament (and lost).
197: After a loss last night, Brent Haynes bounced back in fine fashion with a first round pin. He moves on to face Patrick Bond of Illinois, who upset the #7 seed of Purdue in his last match.

Marable loses in SUPER DUPER overtime to #1 seed
The score was actually tied 6-6, but Howe was able to get more riding time and is the winner.
Galante beat Toal again, and will now face Marable for the right to the third place match

Toal fell to Cubberly and will finish in 8th place
Still, a pretty solid outing for the redshirting frosh and shows 165 should likely be in very good hands when Marable graduates.

Ellis beats Bradley 5-2 in OT and will wrestle #1 seed for third
while Bradley will wrestle #2 seed Rey of Lehigh for 5th. I believe Rey defeated Bradley earlier in the season.

With 103 team points, Mizzou finishes fourth
behind Iowa (champ), Iowa State and Central Michigan.
Sucked not having Wisdom there at 125 to see what he could do.
Solid outing for McCormick at 133
OK for Schavrien at 141, good stuff from Bradley there
Not much from 149
Good outing for Wright, sucked to not finish with a place but a tough draw
Good results for Marable and Toal. Marable faced some of the best competition in the country.
Henderson with a nice finish at 174
Disappointing for Askren not to win it at #1, but a good last win to save some face
Nice outing for Haynes…he is coming along nicely
Have to be a little disappointed from the HWY’s…neither one has seemed to really get going this season.
