Alabama's OVERALL defense is better...

…but their defensive line is not. Or at least, their DTs aren’t. Cody is not a playmaker like Suh is. There is NO other playmaker like this from the DT position, which makes them a very unique matchup.

I'd probably end up saying maybe +5 or so...

…I mean, Alabama’s looked infinitely better this week, but they also almost lost to Auburn and Tennessee not too long ago. They haven’t always been as good as they were today, nor has Texas always been as bad.

(And I’m only half-assedly making this argument, as I still want TCU in the title game…only I can’t root for Nebraska…so conflicted…)

Don't think so.

They’ve got some distance, and unless Brian Kelly goes on the Mack Brown Circuit, glad-handing everybody in sight before the next vote, I think TCU holds on. They better, anyway, as I think they’re better than Cincy.

These were the two teams closest to one another in the BCS rankings. Cincy was already ahead of TCU in the computers and the BCS score has them behind TCU by less than .013. I dont think that is a heck of a lot of distance.

Not even sure Bill knows this, but he and Jay-C (RIP) bought my ’07 Nub ticket off me. I had to buy an extra when Dad wanted to go. Anyway, Jay had to go around to people where I told them to meet me asking for “Big Head” until they finally ran into my dad. Dad heard him, and funneled him over to me. If I remember, Bill emailed me, and Jay was the one trying to get in.

FWIW, teams that Texas played "from a BCS conference" include:

Colorado.
Baylor.
Kansas.
Texas A&M.

And one of those teams in the top 25 — Nebraska — doesn’t figure to be there tomorrow.

well the only teams left in the top 25 that TCU beat will be BYU and Utah

and Utah doesn’t really deserve to be in (best win was probably Wyoming)
