unsure...
They were kinda harsh on JYD don’t you think?
I am not a pro ball fan so Im not sure if this was bad or could it be worse?
From what I gathered from that post is if a college baller doesnt become a star in the pro’s his first season he aint worth shit….
All i know is JYD puts in work every second he is on the floor so I doubt he will be cut out of the NBA entirely. Only time will tell…

Not what I meant at all...
“DeMarre has been a more than adequate sub. Data shows that the Grizzlies only play about 2 points per 100 possessions worse with him in, which isn’t bad at all for a rookie substitute and a second rounder in most drafts”
Carroll is going to be a great role player, as indicated by the fact that he’s a solid sub even as a rookie (most rookies drafted as late as Carroll aren’t even this good). Anything I say negative is, #1: that he’s terrible at small forward, and #2: his upside is probably as a rotation guy

I'm torn
As a Grizz fan (one of ten, apparently, although they did beat LeBron in OT last night), and a JYD fan, I see both sides. But to grade Carroll this early is stupid in my opinion. That’s akin to saying Gabbert showed his true colors after the fourth quarter of the Nebraska game. There’s a lot of basketball left to be played and JYD has a lot to learn before we start this stuff…

Didn't mean to grade...
Just trying to illuminate how well he’s played so far this year, which is pretty well. Also I don’t think you would find many (any?) scouts or people around the league that would disagree with DeMarre not having featured player upside. Fan favorite? Yes. Star like at Mizzou? Probably not.

I don’t think JYD will be a 20 pt scorer in the NBA but I think his D will keep him in the league for a good amount of time.

I wouldn't say it was overly harsh to say that DeMarre's a tweener
It’s just that we adore DeMarre.
Without having seen a single minute of Grizzly ball, in my expert opinion I could see playing DeMarre at the 4 and Arthur at the 5 on the second unit and looking to run. The other thing is, if DeMarre continues to work on his jumper you can play him at the 3. The shot is the last thing to come for most rookies.
