Games of the Day
Providence v. Louisville (11:00am)
Rarely is it this stark and simple, but if Providence wins, they're probably in The Dance. If they lose, they're probably out. Biggest (non-Mizzou) game of the day.
Minnesota v. Northwestern (11:00am)
Another early game with tourney implications. The winner of this game isn't necessarily in the tourney (though Minnesota's looking pretty good), but the loser definitely isn't.
Kansas State v. Texas (2:00pm)
If K-State has a prayer of making The Dance, they have to win this game. Their stock has taken a near-fatal hit in recent weeks, but beware a desperate, streaky team.
Maryland v. N.C. State (6:00pm)
I still don't think Maryland's in if they win this game, but they're out if they lose.
UCLA v. Wazzu (10:30pm)
There aren't necessarily tourney implications here, but this is a rematch of a fun, wide-open game from a couple weeks ago, and if Wazzu wins, they've got as good a chance as any in this wide-open tourney.

Yikes.
Luckily I have discovered that I am able to access ESPN 360 at work! Woot!
Mike Anderson) doesn’t need to go out and sign a bunch of McDonald’s All-Americans. He just needs to go find a few Burger King-type guys and he’ll get it done - Nolan Richardson on Mike Anderson

Some good games today.
Mizzou-Tech might be the least interesting game of the Big 12 quarters (well, not from our point of view of course).
OK-OKState should be a battle for sure. And let’s hope so…because it can only benefit Mizzou come the semis should we win tonight.
HOPEFULLY...
…it will be the least-interesting game. It only serves us poorly if it’s interesting!

No worries.
Not trying to jinx. I mean interesting when looking at the possible matchups…not what the outcomes might be. Mizzou-Tech could very well be close, I wouldn’t be surprised. I just think that the other games look more worthwhile…as in, if I was a casual fan, I’d rather watch the other ones.
that should be a lesson!
don’t go to school on the west coast!

"Games of the day" updates...
Providence’s bubble probably bursts after a 73-55 loss to Louisville.
Minnesota probably locks up a bid and officially eliminates NW’ern from consideration after a 66-53 win.
Also…
- Kentucky stays alive with a pulling-away 71-58 win over Ole Miss.
- Virginia Tech stays on life support with a 65-47 win over Miami.
- Temple trying desperately to stay in consideration, up 33-22 over St. Joe’s (3:00, 1st).
- Arizona and Arizona State just tipped, as did Texas and Kansas State.
