Mizzou Softball Doubleheader vs. Western Illinois

Stay connected for news and updates

The Tigers are currently 23-3 overall and will be finishing up the out of conference portion of their schedule this afternoon at home against Western Illinois.  The doubleheader is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. with the second game to follow in pretty short order (likely around 4:30 p.m.)

No telling who will be on the mound for the Tigers today, but chances are they are going to be VERY solid.  The Tigers boast a team ERA under 1.00 and have thrown three no-hitters in the past two WEEKS.  Senior Stacy Delaney has rounded back into the form which took the Tigers to the Super Regional last year, while freshman Chelsea Thomas has been very strong and gives the Tigers an amazing new weapon, along with junior Jana Hainey and freshman Kristen Nottleman who can also throw when needed in relief.

For the offense, sophomore Rhea Taylor is 2nd on the team in hitting (to Shana White), but has added some power to her stroke.  She continues to swipe bases at an amazing rate, though White actually leads the team in that department.

The team had a great weekend down in South Carolina, combining offense and defense to really take it to then-#15 UNC.  I will keep this thread updated through the first game and as much as I can in the second game.
