Thank you gentlemen.
Consider this your "Thank You" thread to this Missouri basketball team for one of the most magical seasons I've ever seen.

This is the best team I have ever watched
and I thought no team would top the Stipo/Sunvold ones.
I have never been as excited about “next year” either!

wow
from being picked to finish 7th in the Big XII to winning the Big XII to coming out and giving one of the best performances a Missouri team has had in the NCAA tourney, this season has gave us Tiger fans so many memories. Hopefully it will be remembered as the season that started a run of great teams at Mizzou!

God bless this team
Thanks for the ride…and if the young’uns pick up next year where they left off this tournament, I’ve got high hopes for next year.

Asian Kid for the season as a whole
Thanks for letting us celebrate 31 wins, guys.
Spring game and worry about
if our FB team can keep up the momentum with developing young players. With our quick strike offense along with the 40 minutes system… There is NEVER a dull moment.
Yes.

My first Mizzou game watched in person was
with Peeler and Doug Smith. I have never seen a better example of the sum being better thatn the parts than this team. If we can keep HCMA, I think we can continue this trend.
Thank you gentlemen
I am so appreciative of how our guys came out and played all year. They played with heart and purpose. You have done your University and the whole fanbase proud. What a wild and amazing ride this year.
Thank You.
Man I love this team
I’m really gonna miss DeMarre…

If Seton Hall wins the national championship next year
I’ll bet he doesn’t care. Honestly I don’t think he cares right now, he was unhappy here and went somewhere where he could be happy.

keon left because he didn't want to be here...so I'm not sure he would be happy winning here

Love this squad
they’d have been a breath of fresh air in the FF.
This is the springboard guys.

Having a good football team was great...
But I grew up on March Madness and college basketball. After last year, I didn’t think I’d ever get to see my school make the NCAA tournament while I was there.
Then we went 18-0 at home, beat kU and OU, won the Big 12 tournament, and was awarded a #3 seed in the tournament. We didn’t stop there. We beat Cornell. We beat Marquette. And we beat the team I had winning it all in Memphis.
And we did it with one of the most likable bunches of players possible. Demarre, Leo, Goose, and Mikey will be missed, but the way Kimmie, Ramsey, and especially Safford played at points in the tournament makes me think we’re going to be right back with a shot at the final four next year.
Missouri cares about basketball again, and it feels great.

Yeah
We made our best runs today entirely with players that are coming back.
Great season, way to make us proud boys.

I love that even though we lost, we did it with class. Take note to that Marquette.

made the winter fun. They were a blast to watch on and off the court. Great group of guys this year, hopefully leads to good things again next year.

Awesome.
Loved every minute of the season.
Thanks everyone. . . . .
I had such a blast.
I am going to write on their facebook pages how proud I am of the team.

THE key play in this entire season
had to be the Ramsey block at Georgia. I had it on the radio in my car and could feel the energy and how infectious it was through Mike Kelly. That made me say, “wow.”

Not disagreeing at all, but prior to UGa...
the whole system was still kind of a gimmick. We were the pitcher with a trick pitch. We didn’t know if we could go on the road and beat (what we thought at the time was) anybody with it. Georgia was obviously no great shakes, but we had to see the system with our athleticism work against a big conference opponent at their place.
Of course the KU shot was the origin of Mr. Coffee. It was like Hal Jordan getting his Green Lantern ring.

Great season, no regrets
We went from a pretty average team to a really great team as the season went on. Every single player got better as the season went on, and we peaked at the right time.
UConn is the best team in the country, and I wish them the best the rest of the season.
www.talkingchicagobaseball.blogspot.com
Thank you Tigers
This team got so much better throughout the season thanks to the coaching of Anderson and the senior leadership. What a fun team to watch.
the best
I cried at the end of the game. Not because we won’t be going to a final four (well, kinda) but because I was so proud of these kids and I hope they don’t feel bad at the end of the season. They have reignited a university and a town with enthusiasm and hope. They have fought against every naysayer and believed in themselves. They are a bunch of really great kids who played really great basketball.
It's funny.
We lost this game, and I’m beaming.
But whenever I see the video of the team returning home from the Big 12 Championship with the trophy in hand, I get choked up every time.
I'm so proud of them
I just want them to be proud of them, you know?

Same here.
I’ve gotten IMs and texts from friends saying how sorry they are that we lost but I’m really not that sad. I would’ve loved to win, but I just can’t be disappointed with this season. I’ll miss the seniors, but at the same time I’m really pumped about getting to see and hear more from the young guys. This team is just likable!
Plus being from the Chicago area, it is GREAT for bragging right with my friends that Mizzou is better than the majority of the Big Ten schools now in both bball and football.
Thank you . . .
. . . that is all I can think to say.
I was there for the end of Norm, and the beginning of . . . yeah, well, you know. I am so glad to see the return of greatness to MU—and I am not just talking about wins either. For the first time in a while, I have been really proud to wear my black and gold during basketball season—especially since I work in an office full of KU grads!
Thank you coach! Thank you team!
Thanks for restoring my pride in Mizzou hoops
This is a great TEAM, far greater than the sum of its parts. A very likable cast of characters made even more so by their tremendous work rate and effort.
I will fully take the blame for the loss.
I did not watch the game from my lucky chair.
Hell, I didn’t even watch the game at all.
Instead, I met my new daughter (2 1/2 weeks early) Annie June.
Here she is doing her best DeMarre
I can’t wait to fully recap this whole season. What a blast!
But, right now, “Sleepy” does not do justice to Floyd.

Thanks for a great season.
I’d like to thank DeMarre Carroll for being an outstanding person and being the kind of leader that Mizzou needs and deserves. I think he is one of the main reasons why we got it turned around. DeMarre made MU his home, and he’ll always be welcomed with open arms for all that he’s done.
The same goes for the rest of the team. Extra big thanks to the seniors. Especially Leo and Matt who stuck it out and were lucky enough to be a part of some thing great. Hopefully this is just the foundation for many great years to come.
Godspeed you great gentlemen . . .
you Tigers of Old Mizzou.
Suffice it to say that I have a pretty good grasp on the history of the program, and no team has ever made me more proud.

that was cool
I am watching the disney channel tonight so I can keep my mind off the tournament right now. Aladdin followed by Mulan? Almost a good enough substitute for the final four
Agreed
I had to get rid of my TV when we lost to ku in football, I was so upset.
Watching the end of this game, I was just proud and happy that I got to watch this team. Thanks for a fun year, I’ve never enjoyed watching sports more than this basketball season.
What at run
Felt good to actually want to watch a game all the way through. Exciting to see young blood that not enjoys being here, but takes it personally when the team does bad. Hell, just to see a team again instead a bunch of kids in the same clothes. They represented their school, their colors, and their coaches wel throughout this season. Much like the football team, I hope that the seniors instilled a drive to constently get better with each year, and the new seniors can impart that onto the incoming class. I wish the best of luck to JYD, Leo, Goose, and Junior on the next step, be it NBA, Europe, coaching, or the work place.
And now I enter a period of sadness, or what I also call doing my income taxes.
When’s opening day at Wrigley?

Congrats on your season, Tigers.
You all had a great run. I will be the first to admit that I was thoroughly shocked when their solid non-con play continued into the start of conference play. If any of you know who I am, then you know that I have a deep burning hate for your school, but I can appreciate (I didn’t say like, haha) a team that comes together at the right time, and makes a deep run. That said, I’m obviously still happy that you have never made a Final Four, but am glad you have been able to make it a rivalry once again; even if it’s only for one year ;) All joking aside, after being in Indianapolis last night, and watching KU’s season end, I have no shit to talk, none of my normal wisecracks, or anything of that nature. All of you guys that come over to RCT have nothing but respect, so I am more than happy to show the same. Again, congrats and see ya this fall!
See what the tournament can do to the most devoted fans? Gotta love it.
Thanks, KC.
Having spent some time over at RCT, I know how much pride you’re swallowing to come over here and praise this team. Thanks for dropping by.
Things to look forward to:
-The Final Four, even though we’re not in it.
-Opening Day.
-The Masters.
-Playoff hockey.
This is the best time of the year, I tells ya.

Also:
holy crap am I glad we didn’t lose like Pitt did. I’m not old enough to feel the pain of that really long acronym that happened in 1995, but I can only imagine how much worse it would feel if a Final Four was on the line.

If this team had won 2 more games
(or, 1, if we had won IN Lawrence), this would have been the greatest season in Missouri history. As it is, it’s merely one of the greatest seasons in Missouri history.
What a great team, and while I’m sad we lost, I am so glad that I got to experience this team. I wish I could have watched them play more, but it is what it is.
It’s been great learning to love MU basketball again.

Sorry, that's 2 more conference games.
Winning the regular season title would have given this season the only thing it was missing that earlier seasons have had (ok, a #1 ranking, too).
Of course, if we had won the conference, we would have had to play Baylor on day 2, rather than day 4, and I don’t know how that would have turned out.
"When he went for that ball and dived over the table, I knew what was next to come. I felt sorry for what Texas Tech had to face after that."
-- J. T. Tiller - 3/12/09
I've been thinking the same thing
about it being one of the best seasons in Mizzou history. I’ve just kept my proverbial mouth shut. It’s really hard to say this was a better season than the team that went 14-0 in the Big 8, or the team that fought Kansas all year for the #1 ranking. This was one of the best teams in school history, no doubt, but let’s not forget about the great teams in the late 80’s and 90’s.
I'm saying season, not team
I would say, talent-wise, this is barely a top-10 team in Missouri history.
But, 31 wins, 3rd place in conference, achieved top-10 ranking (will possibly finish top-10) Conf. Tourney title, Elite 8 (considering the outcome of the game, it’s the closest we’ve ever come to the Final Four).
Far and away the best post-season we’ve ever had. Most wins we’ve ever had regular season. We’re missing the regular season conf. title and the #1 ranking, but that’s about it.
"When he went for that ball and dived over the table, I knew what was next to come. I felt sorry for what Texas Tech had to face after that."

i think we can agree..
…this is the mizzou team that at least did the best they could. they won the big xii, beat the hardest set of seeds they were laid in front of in the tourney including one upset over memphis.. problem is i cant really compare versus those “other” teams because i was not born yet.
sorry.
GO TIGERS.
"If you believe in telekinesis, raise my hand."
I just heard a great way to describe the evolution of the program this year..
..my friend told me “You know it’s a good program when you feel a real hurt for the guys who are going out.”
Thank you for making me hurt? yeah, i mean that.
"If you believe in telekinesis, raise my hand."
I think it's the best season ever..
I know some will point to 1993-94 but that team’s tourney wins were vacated and they underachieved based on their seed.
This team not only won the Big 12 Tournament, they made the Elite 8 and finished third in the standings of the conference, beating the two teams ahead of them. Yeah, it would have been nice to win the reg season title and all, and that certainly would have made it an even GREATER season, but as far as comparing to past seasons goes, this one was the best IMO and that includes 1988-89 too when all elements are combined.
I can see others making different arguments but that’s my case and I’m stickin to it. :)
