Texas Tech @ Mizzou livethread
Before the game, Tim Jamieson was presented with a commemorative jersey marking his 500th win at Missouri, which happened last Friday against K-State.
Also, the groundskeepers mowed an "M" into the centerfield grass. It actually doesn't look that bad.
Now, to the lineups:
Texas Tech
Rueda 2B
Reed LF
Kenworthy SS
Richburg 1B
LeJeune DH
Ashby CF
Berry 3B
Totten RF
Mayo C
Cloud P (only his fourth start of the year, 5.97 ERA and a .307 batting average against)
Missouri
Holt 2B
Lollis RF
Senne LF
Folgia CF
Coleman C
Mach 3B
Gray 1B
Ampleman DH
Liberto SS
Gibson P (fun fact: HE HAS 90 STRIKEOUTS TO 11 WALKS ON THE YEAR)
Better keep the ball down today, because the wind is howling out to dead center.

Texas Tech on the board early
Gibson struck out the first two batters, but gave up a single to Kenworthy, a walk to Richburg, and a single to LeJeune that scored the run.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
BIG inning for Tech
Gibson had Ashby 1-2, but gave up a single to left to make it 2-0 Tech, and that was followed by a three-run blast off the bat of Berry to make it 5-0 Tech. Yikes.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Gibson finally gets out of the inning...
But all that came with two out.
If Missouri’s going to get the offense going in Big 12 play, though, it’s going to be today against a pitcher with a poor track record and the conditions extremely favorable to hitting.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Senne with an RBI double...
It just missed being his first HR of the year. 5-1 now with Folgia batting.
This is going to be a long game, I’m guessing.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Cloud's been flying open a ton...
leading to about half the pitches he threw sail away and out of the zone to lefties.
He got out of the inning only allowing a run, though. 5-1 TT going to the second.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Ugly stuff so far...
not a good sign since Fridays are a game we pretty much have to win for the rest of the season.

Pretty much, especially given how Tepesch has struggled recently.
This one’s far from over, though.

Gibson gets into another jam, but gets a DP to get out of it
Also adds another K to his resume. 3 of those through 2 innings.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Balls just not falling for Mizzou through two
Four balls have either been hit hard to the outfield or to the warning track for outs so far.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Gibson starting to get into a groove
Gave up a leadoff double, but got a flyout sandwiched between two strikeouts to hold TT scoreless in the third.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Liberto BB, Holt HBP to open the third...
Meat of the order coming up with men on base. Let’s see if they can convert.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Lollis lays down a sac bunt
Second and third, 1 out with Senne batting.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Senne strikes out looking on an absolute "B-pitch"
(to quote Hawk Harrelson). It’s up to Folgia if they want to get something out of this inning.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
...and Folgia obliges with a two-run double to left.
5-3 now, Coleman batting.

Yup, Gibson's settled down
Sends TT down in order in the fourth. 6 K through 4 IP.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Missouri goes scoreless in bottom of inning
The wind has sort of started to die down, but the key in that inning was that Robert Kilcrease of TT kept the ball down, getting two groundouts and a strikeout.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
Gibson strikes out the side in the fifth
Now has 9 K’s through 5 IP. Those were the 2-3-4 hitters that he set down, too.

Another 1-2-3 inning for Gibson...
no strikeouts, but nothing hit hard.

Solo shot by Jeremy Mayo of TT makes it 8-6
and breaks Gibson’s streak of 13 in a row retired. Action’s starting in the MU bullpen.
Chicago White Sox Examiner — Your what hurts?
And that's followed by a double to left
One out, runner on second for TT with 2-3-4-5 coming up. Gibson might not be out there for much longer.

RBI single for Kenworthy
In a very Twins-esque at-bat, And by that, I mean he fouled off a few pitches and took Gibson deep into the count before slapping a single into left. 8-7 MU with TT’s cleaup hitter batting, and it looks like Gibson’s going to stay in the game.

SPECTACULAR play by Liberto to end the inning
Going into the hole, gloving the ball and firing to first on a hop to end the inning. It was Jeter-esque, except Jeter wouldn’t have to got to the ball.

to get a freaking out, so I’m going to stop updating here. Liberto just walked to load the bases, and this game is well in hand.
