As the overall top seed in the tournament, there's no question Asian Kid has a special place in the hearts of all RMN members and readers. Asian Kid first began screaming his way into our souls at the beginning of the 2008 football season, when member (now author) ghtd36 dropped his likeness in the Live Thread of Mizzou's game against SEMO. By the end of the game, there was already a question as to whether or not "this Asian boy" could become the official celebratory GIF of Rock M Nation. As time passed, "this Asian boy" became "Asian Kid," and what a ride it's been since then. His charisma has led to multiple RMN honors, including being part of the Front Page Friday and Rock M Roundtable logos, as well as earning the unique honor of having a spinoff meme, titled "Asian Kid Throughout Mizzou History." |
It may be behind the 8-ball because the nickname was not developed by Rock M Nation, but don't underestimate the love around here for "The Helicopter," the pseudonym of former Mizzou WR Will Franklin. The development of the nickname was best examined by the Columbia Missourian during the 2007 football season:
To this day, certain RMN members insist on yelling "It's Will Franklin!" when a helicopter flies overhead at Faurot Field. |

I count the "Asian Kid" as an inspiration for our work...
I always want to try to find a meme as awesome as that.
The only one that I have so far is Rocky, and it’s hard to use that too often.
However, I vote that this become the official .gif of the “Unholy Alliance”.

Nah, it hasn't gone up yet.
