Alright...I did not believe I would be here...but..

I got down to the Cards game to meet a friend of mine who had been given tickets from one of his company’s vendors. We went to go in, and the tix beeped back at the gate, they tell us to go to the Ticket Adjustment counter. Turns out, the vendor had already changed th location of their tickets for the season, but gave my buddy the OLD set of seats…so we were SOL. So…am back in The Chuck and will be here for the 1:30 game.

HUGE thanks to Andy for doing game 1. I was following on my mobile and it is great to see different players step up and be big for this team.

121 steals on the season led the conference

I think it makes sense to put the pressure on Bradley since they are likely to struggle scoring against us. Getting up 2 or 3 runs might do it. Taylor has the green light to ALWAYS run, her being thrown out was a real surprise. As for Minner..eh…she scored, so good play :-)

I'm not complaining, I think it was smart

especially when the LF bobbled that ball a bit. I was a bit surprised by Ubrun trying to stretch it to a triple, but as long as it doesn’t get out of hand, aggression is a good thing.

I wasn't watching closely

But, I’ll say this as a former pitcher…..
If the ump has any reason to think the pitcher has begun her windup, he was 100% right in not granting time. A batter’s ability to swing is not nearly as important as keeping a pitcher from injuring herself.

Personally, whenever the batter would get a timeout when I was pitching, I’d throw at him and just claim I was distracted by the ump granting time during my windup.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence,

since I’m sure the radio station isn’t picking the music to play between the innings (while they’re likely playing commercials)

But, the music is much better when KCOU is the game audio than when Bradley’s radio station is the game audio.

this is where having as many pitchers as we do helps so much

Thomas will have 24 hours off and ready for tomorrow, and Hainey has not even thrown at all, while Nottelman and Delaney each did not throw a full game. Lots of options for us, while the team we played will have played at 6:30 and may have played TWO games since we will have played

Scores of interest and status of Big XII teams

Texas A&M is 1-1 in the Florida Regional and will play Lehigh this evening for the right to play Florida tomorrow for the regional title.

Okie State is 1-1 in the Tallahassee Regional and will play the winner of Miss St. and #16 Florida State this evening. A win would put them against Cal tomorrow for the title

Baylor is 1-0 in the Waco Regional and is waiting to play Texas State. A win would move them on to Sunday in the winner’s bracket

Nebraska is 1-1 in the Knoxville Regional and is waiting to play the winner of James Madison/Jacksonville St. this evening. A win will move them to Sunday to play #13 Tennessee

Texas is 1-0 in the Tuscaloosa Regional and is currently down 4-1 in the 5th to #4 Alabama. A loss would have them playing the winner of UT-C and Mississippi Valley State later tonight, with a win getting them back against Alabama

  1. Oklahoma is 0-1 in the Norman Regional and is currently scoreless 0-0 in the 3rd against Arkansas. A win keeps them alive, and they would then face Tulsa tonight. Another win would get them back against ND State, who is a #4 seed and 2-0 thus far.
  1. UCLA is 1-0 is currently tied 2-2 in the top of the 6th. A win moves them on to tomorrow, but a loss would have them facing the winner of UNLV/Long Beach later tonight.

There goes my very small amount of interest in the Belmont

as horse racing really doesn’t interest me unless there is a chance for a Triple Crown. Not to say I wouldn’t enjoy going TO a race, but watching on TV? Don’t see the excitement.

back from another day at the new house...

…thoughts:

1. Bradley has a player named Creighton. Awesome.
2. I hadn’t realized Bradley was actually under .500. Is a shame they couldn’t have beaten DePaul.
3. The Preakness was indeed fantastic…though I’ve still never seen a Triple Crown winner in my lifetime, and it makes me sad.
4. Mizzou 4, CS-Bakersfield 2
5. My parents are in town, and I cannot tell you how much my dad enjoys the Keyboard Cat clips. I think he was in tears this morning when I was running through them.
