Big XII Championships - Softball vs. Okie State and Baylor

Good morning Tiger fans.  Okie State took down #10 seed TTech  yesterday easily, so they draw the #2 seed Tigers this morning.  Action is getting ready to start, as freshman Chelsea Thomas will take the mound for Mizzou.  Here is the starting lineup:

Taylor (CF)

Schneider (3B)

Ubrun (DP)

Schweisberger (1B)

Christopher (C)

Minner (RF)

Allen (2B)

Vock (SS)

White (LF)

Mizzou is the home team, and Thomas starts out the game with a groundout.  I will do my best to see this one through to the end today before adjourning to entertain the 'rents.

{moved to the Front Page as the action in the Baylor game gets good}

It will be interesting to see what they do with pitching here....

I had been wondering if they might try to throw Nottlemann today in this game to try to conserve Thomas and Delaney for the other two potential games. With this sort of lead…it will be interesting to see what the coach does here. You have to assume Delaney goes later this afternoon, but conserving Thomas could become the play here as this game moves ahead a bit

Mizzou is merciless in a 10-0 run-rule win over Okie State. Taylor goes 2-2 with 3 runs scored, Ubrun drives in 4 and Christopher goes 1-1 with 3 RBI’s. Thomas throws 4 shutout innings, scattering 3 hits and 2 walks, while K’ing 3.

Top of the 6th was exciting. ISU got a leadoff single

and had runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs….

The runner on 2nd got caught in a run-down between 2nd and 3rd, attempting to steal (hopefully, there was a wild pitch, and it wasn’t a straight steal with 2 outs down 3 in the 6th).

And, in a recurring theme for this particular game…. ISU can’t do anything with a very small opportunity. Still 3-0 OU
