Big 12 appears ready to surpass SEC in football

I'm not going to lie--I don't think I agree with this column. Strangely enough, I kind of disagree with both the pro-SEC and pro-Big 12 portions (I'm just like that, I guess). While I want to think the Big 12 either is or can be better than the SEC, and while I think it was in 2008, I think the conference takes a step backwards this year. Yes, there will be a ton of first-round talent on display in 2009, but there just won't be as many good teams this year. Now, 2010 could be a different story, depending on the QB situations at OU and Texas. Kansas will likely take a step backwards, and OSU could too, but Missouri, Nebraska, Tech, Baylor, ATM, Kansas State and maybe Colorado will be better in 2010 than 2009, so we should probably pick up the conversation again then.
