…and unsurprisingly, the Douglas County DA apparently found it within their prosecutorial discretion not to charge him with anything.

a whole lot of hoopla vone day about that. So that incident wasn’t the reason he ended up leaving?

He apparently wasn’t happy with his playing time, so he’s elected to go to a smaller division. I don’t think the incident had much to do with it, although I’m sure it wasn’t exactly convincing him to stay.
Looks like someone would do that for a Klondike Bar
