Ames Trib Link
Made me crack up. To say ISU’s most important non conference game is against a MAC team on the road, not on TV at all is laughable.
Either NDSU or Iowa is the most important non conference game. You can argue the first because you don’t want to lose your season opener as a new coaching staff, especially to a I-AA team. You could argue Iowa because they are going to be ranked, and this game plays a big role in local recruiting.
Ideally, I’d like to win all of our non-conference games, but beating Kent State isn’t going to make me feel better about the season.
Also a rookie head coach is like the backup QB. Everybody loves them until they actually play (or coach)…
Regarding Baylor, mohawks are cool, but they aren’t going to stop that Texas or OU D-Line. Newspapers these days really crack me up!
