Final Scrimmage Reports!
- The Trib: Final Scrimmage Report
Here's how the No. 1 offense fared in its possessions: punt, Washington TD run, punt, field goal. The No. 1 defense gave the No. 2 offense little breathing room, forcing a three-and-out, interception, three-and-out and three-and-out. By my count, the No. 1 defense gave up all of 23 yards on 18 snaps.
- PowerMizzou: Final scrimmage report
Linebacker Will Ebner hurt his neck during the middle of the scrimmage, and sat out the rest. He was seen walking around fine, although it appeared his neck was stiff. It doesn't look too serious, and Pinkel said he'll have it checked out, but more for precautionary reasons.

With the move indoors, the format of the scrimmage was altered significantly, which meant that no score was kept on the day. Junior TB Derrick Washington had the lone touchdown of the day, when he scored on a 5-yard run early on. Sophomore QB Blaine Gabbert was an efficient 11-of-14 passing for 84 yards, with senior WR Danario Alexander being his favorite target on the day (4 catches, 42 yards).

"You look at the three (defensive) ends competing for those starting two jobs, and all three of those guys could start anywhere across the nation," Jimmy Costello said. "For us to have all three of those guys fighting for two spots, we're very fortunate."

Great Links
Has Pinkel ever complained about our team the way Pelini complains about his? Yikes!
"When I first got here," said Missouri coach Mike Anderson, "it was 20 minutes of hell and 20 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

Watched the DVD of the 2007 football season again yesterday...
hard to believe just how close Mizzou was to playing for the National Championship. Even in the Big 12 Title game, if they had just found a way to get in the end zone instead of settling for field goals, things could have gone differently. Anyway, I’ll stop kicking a dead horse.
That season was just awesome…I’m excited to see if Pinkel and company can make it more than just a blip on the radar.
Yeah, we were close in both OU games ...
… had we scored on that opening drive of the second half (after we stopped OU 3-and-out on their opening possession) I think we could have made it a different game. We drove to about OU’s 30 on that first possession (I think J-Mac had a nice reverse to get 1st-and-10 on their 30). Then Chase got sacked twice in that next series and we had to punt. Then OU drove down and scored, we threw the pick on the very next series and it was over.
OU did to us in that game what we had done to Texas Tech earlier in the year. They let us drive up and down the field between the 20s but somehow found a way to keep us out of the endzone. Those situations is where not having Chase Coffman really hurt us in that game. A couple of well-timed fade patterns to Chase the Bull in the back of the endzone could have really swung momentum.

Cardinals?
I guess I never followed up on it and the McKinney movie reminds me- what happened with that Cardinals tryout?
He's definitely...
…the Will Smith of former Mizzou basketball players from St. Louis who are trying to break into either movies or baseball…
