Who knows if the info is accurate....
but RockChalkTalk says that the fight began when a football player was hitting on basketball players girlfriend…obviously someone objected and teammates were called and the situation escalated.

I have no words. Obviously, it’s too easy to say anything too conclusive, as no official word has come out or anything. But from the looks of things, a look that is increasingly coming into focus, it just looks like a helluva lot of immaturity.

Mostly a whole lot of pushing, shoving and sh!t talking today, but it does sound like there were some punches thrown yesterday evening.
Glad they got the basketball team escorted off campus before we ended up with half our team in the hospital since they apparently didn’t do the math to realize that a roster of 15 might struggle in a fight against a roster of 60+.
I guess I’ll take solace in the fact that there were no drugs, alcohol, weapons or SUV’s involved. Hopefully the coaching staff’s will make sure these guys do a whole lot of “growing up” this afternoon at practice…not to mention I’m sure Bill Self’s upcoming boot camp won’t be near as “fun” as it might have been for the bball team.
Some people are like Slinkies...not really good for anything but they make you smile when pushed down the stairs.
Replace the "g" in "growing up"...
… with a “th” and it sounds like a recipe for success. Got a feeling all the players can tell you the exact amount of Memorial Stadium/Allen Fieldhouse steps sometime soon.

For kUs sake I hope they can handle this well. (ie coaches/AD make strong statements and take strong actions) This can not happen at any school of higher education.

superiority by numbers?
Because, beside from the obvious short handedness an actual fight would present, any type of suspension would damage a BB to a greater degree than the FB team.
But I highly doubt anything will get past “internal discipline” since….well…you know, they’re athletes.

So at some point
posting incriminating things on-line side steps the entire “media umbrella” surrounding the situation and will force play into the coaches/ADs’ hand that none wanted to see come to fruition.
I am not saying anything as yet been typed up and sent to a place EVERYONE CAN SEE, is incriminating in this situation but damn…..
