we need to treat every game like....

it's the national championship game.In my mind thats the only way i can see things working out. Our coaches have to come up with a better gameplan. if anyone else noticed our trips to the red zone against nevada werent as fruitful as were used to seeing them. our coaches have to figure out a gameplan for short yardage. derrick washington couldnt get any yardage in the redzone and gabbert has to work on his throw. i almost threw a fit at all those overthrows.and the one 76 yd td pass to denario was almost an incomplete pass but denario made the play . Blaine Gabbert did show he can move out of the pocket when in danger and make great throws under pressure. i hope we use this off week to fix all these tweeks

I think it’s a legitimate concern. Afterall, we can’t be having these 3 point trips to the redzone and expect to contend with OSU Texas or nebraska.

though you bring up points that need to be addressed;

Nevadas’ D did what they said they would do, stop the run. The slow developing runs and not so sneaky QB keepers need to get fixed but there is no need to run for cover just yet. Gabbert missed some throws sure, then he made more than a couple spectacular throws.

This is a very young team, get yourself prepared for some crazy games.

I’m going to go ahead and feel safe in assuming the coaches didn’t go into practice and say, “It’s just Nevada – you guys feel free to dick around this week.”

How exactly does that game being a national championship fix an overthrow?

I'm not so concerned about the overthrows

simply because his long bombs were in the thin air of Reno…hence why there were so many touchbacks on the kickoffs. I think he was throwing like he was in Columbia, and not at elevation. Like I said in the game thread…this game is a kick in the nuts to the players to get their conditioning in top form before our trip to Boulder.
