  • The Trib: With high expectations coming into season, J.T. Tiller not satisfied so far
  • The Missourian: Tiller out-of-sync for Missouri

Tiller has built his reputation off his defense – he was last year’s Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year. But after Missouri lost its three leading scorers from last season’s Elite Eight team, it was clear Tiller would be counted on to contribute more on offense. So far this year, he’s averaging 8.7 points per game, just 0.3 points more than last season. Tiller has been particularly cold during conference play, scoring a combined 17 points in three games on just 5-of-17 shooting.

“I think I was putting a lot of pressure on myself,” Tiller said. “After talking to all the coaches and a lot of family members, they were just like, ‘Go back to doing what you were doing. You didn’t have to score. You didn’t have to press on offense. Just play your game and play with your instincts. That’s what you do best.’”

Thinking about the link I shared last night

the last two MU quarterbacks are both two wins away from Super Bowl rings.

Sorry Brad Smith; your time as a slash in the NFL caused amnesia.

For shame.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
