Ugh...
…don’t make me do a “What If…Jeremy Maclin Had Stayed?” post. Then again, I still haven’t finished my last What If…, so I guess there’s nothing to worry about…

Thrust nunchuk upward!
if j-mac was still on the team
there’s no doubt in my mind mizou’s in the preseason top 10 next year based on what gabbert did this season.

but...
Dominant Axelrod would not have made such an impact perhaps.

I don't know if I would fully call it remorse
I think he might have just been reflecting on the fact that he’s a very, very young player in the NFL, and that it’s hella different.
I also feel that it’s probably a bit natural to think about how things might have been different for him personally if he had stayed.
He had, I would say, an excellent rookie season.
I just wish he wasn’t an Eagle. It’s weird for me to root for him as an individual while simultaneously rooting for the Eagles to suck.

I think it was Nario...
… that said he talked to J-Mac and said that it’s just different at the pro level. He got so used to hanging out with the guys on the team at Mizzou and being part of the MU family that it caught him off guard when all his new teammates went home to actual families.
Oh, and I should add:
It’s weird for me to root for him as an individual while simultaneously rooting for the Eagles to suck.
This.
what do you guys have against the eagles?
who do you root for?

Awww...come out of the corner. It's okay
Besides, there’s no shame in being number 1 from time to time:

This is off-topic, but
You go to Truman? I’m a Truman alum!

I graduated a couple years ago
(oh for the love of god, actually, I just realized that it’s closer to 5 years ago) and I haven’t been back to the ’ville since. But Truman will always have a special place in my heart….as well as the cost of living in Kirksville.
I also just realized that I’m old.

I look at my transcript. It says
BA-Communication: 05/07/2000
I look at the gray hairs I have accumulated since then, including the new ones showing up in the beard.
While not ancient, I definitely feel old.

I know I'm not REALLY old
but I feel like it when I look forward to the weekends primarily so that I can sit on the couch in a snuggie, watching tv for two days straight.

cost of living in kirksville = magnificent
not having any money to spend in kirksville even though it’s very low= not magnificent

Yeah
My half of the apartment rent in Kirksville was $180 a month, haha.

What I have against the Eagles:
I’m a native of NYC. I’m a Giants fan.
’Nuf said.

fair enough
i generally dislike the nfc east as a whole, but the eagles are the most tolerable. followed by the giants.

Don't worry about these cats
Being from NY and Texas qualifies them as not being normal.
And why is the background music on these we are mizzou piece so God-awful?

I don't think so
Unless he works for the Athletic dept. I think Ms. Lucchesi makes most of these.

I don't deny her work is great
but her music selections make this commenter sad…

That statement about
his teammates going home to actual families made me sad for him (missing the togetherness of the Mizzou team) and happy at the same time…I get the feeling that many of the teams at MU really ARE like little families.

That is pretty tough
It’s like rooting for Coffman to see the field, or for Ziggy to do well but then not really caring about the ultimate outcome of the game. (place any Mizzou alumni in their as well)
It is tough as the number of Mizzou alumni are playing in the NFL I tend to try and watch a little bit of their games, I did not used to watch hardly any NFL.
