I didn't realize K-State had pulled
the trickery last week.
Who is going to start for them this week? (Or who do they say?)
Whoever said, 'It's not whether you win or lose that counts,' probably lost.

They're not saying.
(But it’ll be Klein.)
Have you bought your 2010 Missouri Football Preview yet??

And then we will key in on Klein...
And let Thomas run for 307 yards. Oh wait, that couldn’t happen again could it?
Annoying You Since 1986
I don't think
Thomas has anything close to the straight line speed of Helu….I am not sure he is even as fast as OU’s featured back whose name is escaping me.
And...of course...
…Klein isn’t Martinez.

Was half making a joke.
If anything, Scheelhaase and LeShore are a much better comparison to Klein and Thomas.

Lane K.
Any I to take from Sheldon’s comments that someone has told him that he’ll be prepared for the NFL season after one year of Division I football? And if so, who could that person be aside from Lane K.? Seems like the height of irresponsibility to say something that absurd and anyone that cares about him must be furious. No one has even seen him perform against high-end division one linemen yet, and even if they had what percentage of high end division one linemen go on to have go NFL careers…Missouri has had great offensive linemen, many even all-conference and i don’t think a single one has played in the NFL. If Sheldon is gonna play one year at Division I he is going to have to dominate EVERYONE he plays and why would anyone think that was likely at this point. Is he even gonna start at USC?
I assume you mean defensive lineman for Missouri in the NFL..
And Justin Smith and Ziggy Hood come to mind.
Annoying You Since 1986
Nope...
I know I was confusing…my point was that Sheldon has yet to face high-end division one offensive linemen and even if he had so what….Missouri has had lots of excellent offensive lineman that can’t make the league and certainly very few of the defensive linemen they faced and beat over their careers are in the NFL…given that reality its even more absurd that someone has told him that he will be ready for the NFL after one year based upon his performance against JUCO offiensive linemen. Moreover, Sheldon needs to prove he can dominate all-conference division one offensive linemen routinely.
As an aside, I think there are a couple more Missouri defensive lineman in the NFL aside from Hood and Smith…one guy has been there forever…Mosely is still in Jacksonville but someone else must have recently retired….
I'm sure 'promises' like this one are common at a lot of D1 schools during the recruiting process.
Some schools are probably more out there with their claims than others I suppose though.
I do think that if getting drafted is his number one concern he is underselling his potential on what could be an excellent Mizzou defensive line in 2011. Playing with Aldon Smith and a not too shabby supporting cast would ensure that teams couldn’t only focus on him. I’d say he would have had the potential to have an excellent season on what could be a pretty good team in Mizzou next year based on the experience we will have coming back.
In the end though, I guess I see where the kid is coming from. SC is a football factory that has produced all kinds of NFL talent…so whatever argument they gave him probably seemed pretty appealing naturally.
Just a random stat...
But big time recruiter Ed Oregeron who Sheldon claimed said he could get him to the NFL like no other, has had two of his defensive lineman drafted to the NFL in the past 6 years. Missouri has had 4.
Annoying You Since 1986
Clearly you didn't read the article.
Oregeron says all of his DL’s go to the NFL. ALL. All is clearly more than 4.

This Oregeron feller, does he coach at Texas A & M?
It seems like he must if all his DL go to the NFL.
That’s right. That joke.

Ed Oregeron once sent the same DL to the NFL twice to two different teams
That’s how hardcore he is.

He went to the NFL too.
