#9 Mizzou Softball opens season @ #2 Alabama

The preseason #9 Missouri Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa to open their season against the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend. Game times are at 1:00 and 3:30 Saturday and 12:00 on Sunday at the Alabama Softball Stadium. There doesn't appear to be any TV or radio for any of these games from the Mizzou end, but there are CBS All-Access links here.
UPDATE: Mizzou takes Game 1, 2-1 and drops Game 2 9-0. Use this as an update thread.
UPDATE #2: We're bumping this back to the top of the page for today's noon rubber match.

Assistant Coach Pete D'Amour tweeted that their flight was canceled from Lambert Field and they were driving to Alabama. More to follow....
UPDATE: As of around 10pm CST last night, he said they'd arrived in Tuscaloosa and there wasn't much snow on the ground. Should be in the upper 40's for today's games.

Watch out for Chelsea Thomas,
She throws really hard

After getting the 2-1 win in Game 1
The Tigers hit the field again in game 2….
Kristin Nottelmann in the circle for the Tigers….
And...
Alabama starts out with a vengence…2-0 bottom 1.

I hope this was just a fluke on Nottelmann’s part….you really have to have a quality 2nd pitcher in college softball to be successful.

What a HUGE statement.
Now, PLEASE let that performance by Nottleman yesterday be a fluke. If this team has an option in the circle behind Chelsea Thomas, we’re talking serious contention here.

1st time Alabama has ever been run ruled at the Alabama Softball Complex
1st time run-ruled in Tuscaloosa since 1997
1st time run-ruled against a non-conference opponent since 2002.
Thomas finished with 12 K’s, 2 H, 1 BB.
Christopher goes 2-3 with 4 RBI
