Yesterday Michal Wilbon and Dan Le Batard discussed the ACC on PTI. Obviously the main topic was the dearth of talent and all around lack of depth and went so far as to bring in a PAC-10 comparison. Guess who they concluded was the power conference in Men's College basketball this year...
Wilbon concludes that "I don't think that any conference is great" and goes on to say "I don't think there is a powerhouse in college basketball." close quote.
As I remember the Big 12 had a whole one home lose in non-confrence play and despite the kU loss to Tenn. (Self lost on purpose I think, all a part of his Machiavellian plan) appears to be more than excellent when it comes to playing other major conferences.
You don't have to agree with us Big 12 fans, but when your job is to have informative discussions about sport don't you have to at the very least bring up the Big 12? Perhaps the large dozen will be vindicated in the tournament, but how telling is it of ESPN's love affair with the ACC that the discussion is not who the best conference is now, but that one must not now exists.
