Go Seton Hall!

Always gotta wish the best for Matt Lawrence’s brother who “went down to Mexico and got a tan.” Seriously, he actually said that once.

i suppose so

i’m actually rooting for notre dame because i’m a quasi SLU fan and seton hall is a bubble team. the more bubble teams that go down, the less slim greater the chance for SLU to possible slip in there.

Creighton AND Saint Louis?

For serious, man?

by StopSpe on Mar 10, 2010 6:22 PM CST up reply actions

well

i’m from st. louis and i almost went to creighton for school, so i have my excuses.

by stlcardinalsfang on Mar 10, 2010 6:26 PM CST up reply actions

I don't care too much about who you want to win unless it's Kansas or Nebraska.

But those are just two schools that I extremely hate (with good reason). SLU hired Majerus, the biggest joke in basketball history (he takes his pants off during practice sometimes) and Creighton is where all the Nebraska football fans go for the winter.

i'm mostly a fair weather fan of both

i didn’t give a shit about SLU all these years until this year, when they were semi-good. and i loved creighton basketball since i was a kid (which is why i looked there in the first place) when they were good, but have since tempered my fandom of them because they’ve gone downhill since dana altman almost went to arkansas. i don’t think i could stomach being a fan of four schools at once though, so i’m glad they take turns being good and bad.

I hope OU gets killed.

Screw you, Bob Stoops! I hate you Sam Bradford!

looks like it's only one camera...behind the catcher

Which brings up the question…how many cameras do they have at the stadium for the video board? Just the one I’m seeing? The quality is okay….but it’s like watching the spring training games where you have to put up with the camera focusing on the netting sometimes. It’s alot better than softball because there’s actually someone operating the camera. Watching the softball game is almost like watching it on a security camera. But, it’s better than nothing.

Duly noted.

Crap.

They haven’t changed the walkup music at Taylor Stadium from last year. This eclectic mix of pop country and hard rock is going to get old in about two innings.

does anyone know when mizzou releases the football schedule?

times and everything i mean…i know the opponents are online.

by elpjuly4 on Mar 10, 2010 7:05 PM CST reply actions

times are always iffy

depending on TV….sometimes gametime isn’t determined until 2 weeks prior to the game…

by CPC on Mar 10, 2010 7:06 PM CST up reply actions

nonconf is determined by the university sometime during the summer

conference games sometimes aren’t decided until two tuesdays before the game because ESPN/ABC has the big 12 whipped.

by stlcardinalsfang on Mar 10, 2010 7:08 PM CST up reply actions

Pre-determined national games released in July usually.

All other games subject to a 12-day or 6-day (flex) window for TV selection.

by RPT on Mar 10, 2010 7:11 PM CST up reply actions

so because usc isn't participating in the pac 10 tourney

there’s only one first round game tonight. does anyone find that odd?

by stlcardinalsfang on Mar 10, 2010 7:11 PM CST reply actions

oh no it makes sense

but it just seems weird that in a “tournament” there’s only one first round game. makes it essentially a play-in game to get into the real 8 man tourney.

by stlcardinalsfang on Mar 10, 2010 7:15 PM CST up reply actions

I hate USC.

Although I must admit, they made a really good hire with Lane Kiffin in football. It always pays to have a real experienced coach, especially one that has had success at both the NFL and NCAA D1 level.

That was sarcasm.

As do I, that's why I decided to note his accomplishments as a coach.

I think it was 2 or 3 wins at the pro level with the Raiders and then with Tennessee he had all these recruiting violations (it pays to be a coach [and player] under Pete Carroll, you learn the ins and outs of cheating) and only won 8 games.

Mizzou offense is rolling

seven straight hits, six runs, and a pitching change with only one out in the bottom of the first.

In other news: I’ll be at Taylor Stadium all night.

From Tim Jameson's profile:
Tim Jamieson enters his 16th season as the head coach of the Tigers in 2010. The third-winningest coach in Mizzou Baseball history, Jamieson will begin the 2010 campaign second on the all-time wins list at MU with a career record of 515-356-2. Last season he passed legendary head coach John “Hi” Simmons on the list and trails only Gene McArtor’s 733 victories.

How does that make any kind of sense?

by CPC on Mar 10, 2010 7:17 PM CST up reply actions

I'm usually not one to care for college baseball.

But that’s sort of awesome that we had a coach named Hi.

by StopSpe on Mar 10, 2010 7:19 PM CST up reply actions

I would say...

Looks like they are going two ways. Winning percentage vs. actual win.

A coach who wins 8 of the 10 games he coached could actually be the “winningist” coach whereas his 8 total wins would have him way down on the “wins list”

I could be wrong.

Fran Fraschilla would like to have a word with you.

Not that I hate Bill Raftery — I think he’s awesome — but Fran is cooler.

by threadkiller on Mar 10, 2010 7:38 PM CST up reply actions

Yes cooler.

All Bill Raftery does is complain about intentional fouls that in his mind shouldn’t be but clearly are (I’m talking about the one with Tiller against Texas where at first there was a normal foul but then, clearly, the defender gave an extra hard and unnecessary push with his left hand). And last I checked Bill doesn’t have a drinking game.

I believe it is. If you are facing the side with all the exits (front but from the inside)

it’s to the left of the main entrances and exits. It’s a Hall of Fame of sorts but I’ve never really stopped to see what it’s all about, I just pass through on my way out (it’s used as an exit, mostly used by students getting out).

Yeah, doesn't matter when you're down by 22 at the half.

Doesn't mean anything about today's game.

It was just a statement that they were out of it so even if they are ready to play in the second half they’ve lost.
