Not that it matters

But it was actually TJ the Tiger, the Children’s Hospital mascot ;)

by ZOUTiger on Mar 12, 2010 1:59 PM CST up reply actions

That makes more sense

and as you say that, I see TJ a little closer to the camera and I see the difference.

They're 8-11 now

After the loss to Illinois earlier….But you’re right…struggling with a team who’s only MAJOR opponents so far are Oklahoma State (L 2-1 (9)) and Baylor, where they lost all 4 games and were run ruled in 2 of them…

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 12, 2010 2:41 PM CST up reply actions

Due up for the Tigers:

2. Marla Schweisberger (0-1, K)

(during Muller at-bat)

Fleming steals 2nd with no throw from the catcher. Umpire standing by 2nd falls down in the mud and gets up laughing about it…

2nd and 3rd, 1 out…

If you've never watched a game on All-Access

There’s only one camera and it’s stationary in the press box, offering a wide angle look at most of the field. The Lady Tigers (in the 1st base dugout) all took off running to left field…assuming they’re rolling the tarp out….

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 12, 2010 3:00 PM CST up reply actions

Just for a little mental masturbation...

I didn’t see anything about this weekends tournament being moved into Devine Pavillion in inclement weather. If they do that, would they finish the New Mexico game indoors, in a completly different environment than the first 4 innings…or would they go ahead and play the Bradley game indoors and if the weather clears up, finish the New Mexico game outdoors?

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 12, 2010 3:11 PM CST reply actions

The tarp is off and they are working on the field

Should be about 30-45 more minutes of that, and they’ll finish this game outdoors, but move the rest of the games inside tonight.

by ZOUTiger on Mar 12, 2010 3:24 PM CST up reply actions

I don't think you are

you posted that about 5 seconds after I heard the same thing….made me wonder if you weren’t who told me that in the first place….but I digress…I don’t think you’re who I thought you were….and I’m letting you off the hook…

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 12, 2010 3:33 PM CST up reply actions

Tarp is off the field

announcer says game should be back underway in the next 30-45 minutes

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 12, 2010 3:23 PM CST reply actions

I guess with little else to do in the rain delay, we can look at some numbers:

Missouri hitting has been horrible:

14 AB, 1 H, 3 K….but they also have 3 stolen bases, which is about the only offensive bright spot so far….

Nottelmann’s numbers are pretty respectable:

4IP, 16 Batters Faced, 2 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K

Not sure how this rain delay will affect her, but I would imagine it’s time for some Janie Wholestaff for the rest of the day, which following the New Mexico game, will be inside Devine Pavillion. No idea on if there will be a video feed of that or not.

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 12, 2010 3:44 PM CST reply actions

Updated schedule for the day

Mizzou/Bradley will NOT be played. Makeup TBD

SDSU/Bradley played next

SDSU/Illinois after that (assuming they can even get that one in)

aw crap, I gotta bail....

I’ll be back to update the thread later on….I was really hoping to watch the Illinois/SDSU game too……

I show SDSU on top of Illinois 5-3 in the 5th inning

meanwhile, the AD tweeted that the SDSU/Missouri game was going to start in 20-30 minutes…then about 20 minutes later said the game has been cancelled.

Missouri to take on Illinois State at 1? They’re trying to, stay tuned.

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 14, 2010 12:14 PM CDT up reply actions

yeah, I'm really disappointed in this weekend

not just the weather, but the fact that we have a team at #21/#25 and another that received votes….and we have to play Bradley twice? Ugh….

Yep, looking good

ISU can’t catch up on her heat and they can’t pull the trigger on her change. It’s a shame that one grounder squeaked through the infield.

Ashley Fleming

hits a grounder between SS and 3rd for a single…

1st and 2nd, no out

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 14, 2010 1:36 PM CDT up reply actions

Michaele Vock hits a liner to the 2nd baseman

who makes the catch and steps on 2nd for the DP.
Shana White comes to bat and on the first pitch Fleming is caught stealing….3 gone…

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 14, 2010 1:38 PM CDT up reply actions

And then the inning goes to crap

Line into a DP and then a weird delayed steal that did not work even a little bit.

by ZOUTiger on Mar 14, 2010 1:37 PM CDT reply actions

Top of the 3rd...

1st batter strikes out swinging
2nd batter hits a soft ball back up the middle..Thomas doesn’t get it and the batter legs out the single.
3rd batter strikes out…throw to 1st gets the 3rd out

STRIKE EM OUT, THROW EM OUT….

The Thomas K count is up to 8 after 3 innings pitched….

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 14, 2010 1:45 PM CDT reply actions

Chelsea gets two more K's

last out recorded on a great snap throw behind the runner for a pickoff for strikeout and a 2-3 pickoff double play to end the inning.

Might be the best pure hitter on the team. The girl just rips line drives all over the field.

by ZOUTiger on Mar 14, 2010 1:58 PM CDT reply actions

I stepped away and missed the 5th...

Illinois State hits a deep ball that leads to a double…Chelsea walks the next batter…

1st and 2nd, 2 out…

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 14, 2010 2:20 PM CDT reply actions

Still 3-1 in the top of the 7th....

Bradley team bus just pulled up to University Stadium…guess they’ll go through with the next game.

by leghumpingjihadkiller on Mar 14, 2010 2:36 PM CDT reply actions

Mizzou just about to wrap up another win here

Up 9-0 on Bradley, as the Tigers have 3 hr’s on the day (including Rhea Taylor going inside-the-park) Nottelmann goes 4 with 2 hits and 2 K’s and Hainey is on in the 5th and is one out away from the 5 inning win.

Flyout to left field ends it

Mizzou with a 9-1 5 inning win to cap a rain-shortened weekend 3-0.

Tough to not see Illinois and SDSU in action, but Mizzou did what they needed to do as they were able to do it between the rain drops. The winning streak now sits at 14 and the overall record at 16-2.

Twin bill at home against Wichita State during the week before another full (scheduled) weekend of games, including a top matchup against Northwestern.
