I like that first matchup, the second not so much. However I would certainly prefer Syracuse over Kentucky, but I really hope the committee has Duke in our region.

I was watching them today against Mississippi State.
We don’t have a big man like MSU has and UK’s bigs would absolutely kill us.

Lunardi is near the bottom when you rank bracket projections. Plus, there’s more than just getting the teams, seeding is important. I was part of a group that projected the bracket at the Cubs site I frequent, and this is what we have:
Going by the criteria used to rank them, our projection was like 2nd of 60-some submissions last year. Hopefully Mizzou’s projection is a little off, cause it’s the same as Lunardi.

They are hot. They beat an awesome Wisconsin team by 4 even when Wisconsin shot 20%
and they absolutely choked away a game against Ohio State. Don’t forget how they made up 14 of 16 points in a deficit to Minnesota before losing and they also got dominated by Wisconsin on their regular season Senior Day (I say that because they got another Senior Day when they play in the NIT). If that’s not hot I don’t know what is.

Okay, I'm getting ready to make my trifecta pick in the next hour. And because actually trying to pick a winner doesn't work, here they are!
If we get an 8 seed, I’m doing the “Best Rapper” which will involve Kimmy, Zaire, and Laurence (because everybody picks him on the fastest 40 seconds).
If we get a 9 seed, I’m doing the “Best Celebration of the Party Startingist Dunk Ever” which will include the Party Starter himself, Marcus Denmon, and some Coffee.
If we get a 10 seed, I’ll have to go with the most underrated clutch players, so it will go Kimmy (for his role in Marquette, home ISU this year, and A&M this year even though we lost), Marcus Denomn (who did great at home against KSU this year and really got hot to help us pull away @Neb), and Keith Ramsey (for what he did @ISU and vs Texas among others).

I have a hard time summoning a lot of sympathy for Utah State. Beating BYU is nice, but when you only have one more GAME against KenPom’s top 50(a loss to St. Mary’s), you need to win your tournament, especially with 5+ bad losses.

there's no such thing...
as an easy walk to the final four. The only two teams to beat KU this year are in their regional. I think that’s hilarious.
And Kansas only plays well against really good teams (see KSU) or rivals.

I have often wondered if Clemson’s Trevor Booker is any relation to Melvin Booker…
I have seen them play a handful of times locally. They press like us, but they really don’t play good man-to-man defense and don’t trap as fiercely. One thing that scares me is that they’re bigger at just about every position if I recall. They’ve got athletes to match us, but they’re not as disciplined as we are.
If Booker doesn’t play well they don’t usually win. They have an annoying habit of getting way down in games and clawing their way back. So you can get a lead but cannot let up.

Clemson’s biggest advantage: offensive rebounding
Mizzou’s biggest advantage: Clemson’s offensive turnover %
Clemson can’t shoot free throws, gives up a ton of steals (not just turnovers, but steals), and doesn’t draw fouls; meanwhile, they force almost as many turnovers as Mizzou (most of them steals), they don’t give you ANY open looks from 3, and they crash the offensive glass pretty well.

Kansas Fans Already Propping Themselves Up As Victims.
I am already sick of hearing my KU fans gripe.
The bracket is quite tough but not the road they would have to take. They don’t have it any worse than any of the other #1 seeds when you start to look at who you’ll actually play.
A lot of people bitching about Kansas’s bracket.
Reasons:
Tennessee-KU lost to them
OK State-KU lost to them
Ohio State-Tough #2 seed
Georgetown-Tough #3 seed
Those teams are ALL on the opposite side of the bracket. KU only has the CHANCE to see ONE of those teams in the Elite 8. It’s not as bad as you think. They should walk to the elite 8 if they keep playing their ball. It’s not going to be easy from there in any bracket.
You want to know who has a tough road and got screwed?
Ohio St. – Oklahoma St then Georgetown then KU? Wow.

Mizzou Softball up 9-0 in the bottom of the 3rd

His teams go 1 or two rounds beyond what people expect all the time. They always get dismissed for being in the Big 10 and bring it come tournament time.
I'm not sure it's so much about their conference as it is just how they have played this year.

I feel bad about my bracket.
I can’t decide between Kentucky and New Mexico and then I have Baylor in the Final Four. While that sounds wrong, I look at every matchup and they win.

Now, I like our chances to get to the Sweet 16. We are obviously evenly matched against Clemson, and after watching WVU last night, I think we can speed them up and take them out. Their length will be a bit of an issue for us, so we need to bring it—can’t play with them in the 1/2 court.

Can you not be excited. 10 seed or not, we are in the tournament back to back years, and with a chance to win a few games. We may not be as strong as last year, but we’re in and that is exciting. I can tell you how many times i felt sickness about this time of year because Mizzou hasn’t been a part of all this. Be excited about the recent past, definitely the present, the future with CMA and company. Thank goodness we have a coach with class, and the talent to recruit and coach. Let’s go get ’em boys, and for all the fans lets be excited to watch the team we care about oh so much.

MU/Clemson: A cool coaching matchup
This is going to be an interesting look at both coaches prepping less than ideal teams.
I’m excited about seeing what they do. Will one or both coaches look to break some tendency?
Should be fun with both teams looking to run.
